Is your belt-weighing system giving you consistent information?

Before assuming there is a problem with the scale, look at the wider conveyor system.

Check:

✓ Grain is feeding onto the belt consistently
✓ The belt is tracking correctly and maintaining tension
✓ Idlers are aligned, clean and moving freely
✓ Grain, dust and debris are not building up around the weigh frame
✓ Belt speed remains consistent
✓ Calibration has been checked after maintenance or equipment changes

Belt weighing is part of the complete material-handling process. Changes to the belt, conveyor or material flow can affect the weight data being produced.

Send us a message if you need help assessing your belt-weighing system.

Take a closer look at the Galvanised AX-40.

Designed for heavy-vehicle weighing, the AX-40 combines a modular design with the flexibility to be used in fixed or portable applications.

The galvanised finish provides greater protection against corrosion, moisture and exposure, supporting longer equipment life in demanding environments.

The AX-40 can:

✓ Display individual axle groups and total vehicle weight
✓ Connect multiple pads to create configurations up to 30 metres
✓ Support truck identification and reporting
✓ Connect with remote displays and printers
✓ Be positioned closer to the loading point

For operators researching vehicle weighing equipment, the AX-40 offers a flexible, heavy-duty solution designed around real operational needs.

When was your weighbridge last calibrated?

Accurate weighing supports reliable reporting, correct charging and smooth operation across council waste facilities, transfer stations and works depots.

If your weighbridge or scale has not been checked recently, now is a good time to book a calibration before an accuracy issue causes disruption or becomes a compliance concern.

NWS NUWEIGH provides on-site calibration, preventative maintenance, Legal for Trade verification and repairs for any brand or model.

Two power adaptors can look almost identical. Only one is right for the equipment.

A healthcare facility using a chair scale for patient weighing began experiencing repeated battery failures. Investigation traced the cause back to an incorrect power adaptor being used to charge the unit, which overcharged and permanently damaged the internal battery.

To help prevent this from happening again, we now recommend a designated pouch that:
✓ Stores the correct power adaptor together with the equipment
✓ Reduces the risk of human error leading to dangerous use of incorrect chargers
✓ Helps protect the battery and extend equipment life
✓ Supports consistent, reliable performance for critical care equipment

If your facility uses chair scales or similar equipment, it is worth checking the correct adaptor is being used and paired with the right unit.

Unsure what adaptor your equipment requires? Message NWS NUWEIGH.

Team bonding is about more than a break from the desk.

Last week, the Melbourne team got together for a wood fired pizza lunch, good food and good company that gave everyone a chance to reconnect outside of the daily routine.

Moments like this help the team:
✓ Build stronger working relationships
✓ Recharge away from day to day tasks
✓ Create shared experiences as a team
✓ Support a positive, connected workplace culture

The Melbourne team is growing, and this is the best way to feed a growing team.

What happens when a loaded truck reaches the weighbridge and the reading is too high? It returns to the loading point, the load is adjusted and the truck is weighed again. That means extra movements, additional handling, more fuel and lost time.

The NWS NUWEIGH AX40 Heavy Duty Blue Axle Pad system provides a more efficient option by bringing the weighing equipment directly to the load point. Because the system is portable, it can be moved and positioned where it is needed. Operators can check vehicle weights earlier in the loading process, before the truck travels across the site.

Benefits include:
✓ Fewer double movements
✓ Less rehandling and reweighing
✓ Faster loading decisions
✓ Improved axle weight visibility
✓ Flexible deployment across different locations
✓ Support for safer, more responsible loading processes

Built with galvanised construction, the AX40 also delivers market-leading protection against rust and is designed for long-term use in demanding environments.

Bring the scale to the vehicle and get the weight information where it matters most.

A weighbridge result tells you the weight.

The data trail tells you the full story.

When a load is disputed, attention naturally turns to the weighbridge. But the equipment is only one part of the weighing process. The transaction record can be just as important when determining exactly what happened. A clear data trail helps verify the vehicle, tare weight, timestamps, recorded values and any changes made during the transaction.

Was the correct vehicle selected?
Was the tare weight current?
Do the timestamps align?
Were any values manually entered or changed?
Can gross, tare and net be traced to the original transaction?
Does the printed ticket match the system record?

A calibrated weighbridge is essential, but it’s only one part of a defensible weighing process. Clear procedures, accurate data capture, controlled access and a complete audit trail are just as critical. The best time to resolve a weighbridge dispute is before it happens.

At NWS NUWEIGH, we support operators through end-to-end consultation, reporting support and system reviews across the full weighing environment - from weighbridge hardware through to software and data systems behind every transaction.

Our focus is helping you strengthen data integrity, improve reporting visibility, and build a clear audit trail that makes disputes easier to investigate, explain and prevent.

How confident are you in the audit trail behind every load?

No built-in weighing system? You may not need to replace the equipment.

Existing farm trailers, augers, bins and other agricultural equipment can often be fitted with load cells to provide weight information where the work is happening.

A properly designed system can help you:

✓ Monitor grain, feed or fertiliser quantities
✓ Load with greater confidence
✓ Reduce guesswork
✓ Improve consistency
✓ Keep clearer operational records

The right setup depends on the equipment, its capacity, how it is used and the conditions it works in.

NWS NUWEIGH can assess your application and recommend a suitable load cell weighing system for your existing farm equipment.

Before replacing equipment that still has years of work ahead of it, talk to our team about retrofitting weighing capability.
