A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea at WBT Maidstone.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout, with team members coming together to share food, stories, and traditions from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. The event was a great reflection of the diversity, inclusiveness, and community spirit that make our workplace special.

Most importantly, we came together to support a cause that touches so many lives. Cancer impacts individuals, families, friends, and communities across Australia, and events like Australia's Biggest Morning Tea play a vital role in raising funds for research, prevention, and support services.

We're proud of the support shown by our team and grateful to everyone who donated, participated, and helped make the morning such a success.
Together, we can make a meaningful difference—one cup of tea at a time.

A special thank you to Lisa Livingstone for organising this wonderful event and for sharing your story with such openness and authenticity. Your thoughtful reflections provided a powerful reminder of the impact cancer has on individuals, families, and communities, and reinforced the importance of supporting this vital cause.

🔌 CAT6 or CAT6A? The answer is simpler than most people think.

When designing a structured cabling network, many conversations still focus on upfront cost.

But the better question is:
How much will it cost to replace the network in 5–10 years?

Today's networks are carrying far more than just voice and data. They're supporting:

• High-density Wi-Fi
• Security and CCTV systems
• Building automation
• Access control
• Increasing Power over Ethernet (PoE) demands
• Growing data consumption across every connected device

While CAT6 remains an excellent solution for many applications, CAT6A provides something increasingly valuable:

🚀 Headroom.
CAT6A delivers:

✅ 10Gbps performance up to 100 metres
✅ Double the bandwidth of CAT6 (500MHz vs 250MHz)
✅ Improved crosstalk performance
✅ Enhanced support for modern PoE applications
✅ Greater readiness for future technologies

As a result, CAT6A has become the preferred choice for many healthcare, education, commercial, and data centre environments.

The reality is that active equipment will likely be upgraded multiple times throughout a building's life.

The cabling behind the walls probably won't.

That's why more organisations are viewing structured cabling as a long-term infrastructure investment rather than a project cost.

In our experience, the question is no longer:
❓ "Can we justify CAT6A?"

It's increasingly becoming:
❓ "Can we justify not installing it?"

What's your view?
Are you still specifying CAT6 as the minimum standard, or has CAT6A become the new baseline for your projects?

A great way to close out Wellbeing Month this May 👟☀️

Over the past three Thursdays, our team stepped away from the screens and started the day with a relaxed morning walk around Scovell Reserve in Maidstone.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect outside the usual work environment, enjoy some fresh air, and reset before the day began. Initiatives like this are a great reminder of how important active breaks can be for stress relief, avoiding burnout, and maintaining both mental and physical wellbeing.

At WBT, we encourage staff to take active breaks throughout the day, as movement and time away from the desk can help improve productivity, focus, sharpness, and overall mental acuity.

The scenic 3km loop gave everyone the chance to recharge, share a few laughs, and start the morning with a positive mindset, even in the cooler Melbourne weather.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make the walks such a success. Looking forward to continuing more wellbeing initiatives throughout the year.

We recently wrapped up our Tools Sales Conference, and it was a fantastic few days bringing the team together to reflect on progress, align on strategy, and share insights across the business.

It was especially valuable to reconnect with colleagues, welcome new faces, and strengthen the momentum building within our Tools division. The energy, collaboration, and open discussion throughout the conference really reinforced the direction we’re heading in.

A big thank you to everyone involved in making it such a success — from planning through to delivery.

We then carried that momentum straight into Day 1 of the AAA Show, where it was great to be out in the field, reconnecting with customers and industry partners, and continuing those conversations in person.

Big things ahead for our Tools business — and this is only the beginning.
