The Legend of Carlina. In October of a bygone century, Carlina married her groom, Renzo, and they traveled to the Duomo for their honeymoon. Following the custom of her hometown, she was dressed in a traditional black wedding gown.On a particularly foggy day, the couple decided to climb onto the cathedral's roof. Consumed by guilt over an infidelity and carrying a secret pregnancy, Carlina ran toward the Virgin Mary's statue to pray for forgiveness. Disoriented by the thick fog, she slipped and fell to her death, and her body was never recovered.Locals and tourists tell tales of spotting Carlina's spectral figure in photos taken in front of the cathedral, particularly in pictures capturing newlywed couples near the main entrance.Unlike many vengeful ghost stories, spotting Carlina in your wedding photographs is considered a sign of good luck and a blessing for a long marriage
