I had posts set to go out while I was away but didn’t work. Anyhow, drawers done and installed the kaon cargo barrier, side panels and two rock lights. Wiring for the 40A DC DC and fridges done. Ended up with a kings 100A/hr slimline battery in the left wing and DC DC in the right wing. The kings battery copped a flogging for the trip and performed well.

Found the cause of the water leak, turned out to be a known issue with water coming in through the fresh air vent. Fixed with some poly roof flashing attached under the windscreen. Electronics working again after blasting everything with electronics cleaner and compressed air. Rest of the day getting stuck into the drawers.

Well so much for making some progress on the 200. A/C and parking sensors starting doing random things. After all the rain we had, water has gotten into the cabin and soaked the engine, A/C and parking ECU’s. Had to pull most of the passenger side dash out and start drying circuit boards. Now to see if drying it out fixes the issue and if I can find where the water is coming from.

Picked up some mods for the 200 last week. Kaon cargo barrier and roof tray. Redarc 40A DC DC and parts for the 12V system. Also got a Evakool 40L drawer fridge on the way. This week I get into making the new drawer system. Only a week to go till the big trip so I will need to get cracking.

Getting stuck into the 200 series. Getting familiar with the cargo compartment removing all the trim, removing all of the old 12v wiring that was done 10 years ago. Vehicle has definitely seen some beach time so touching up areas showing any corrosion. Also removed the catch can for a clean.

Our next project. 2013 VDJ200 Sahara, already has a 2" OME lift, snorkel, compressor and bullbar. Has some form of a 12V system but we will be tearing that out and doing our own install.

Stay tuned the next few weeks as we start adding modifications.

Been a while since posting, been too busy burning dinosaurs in the V8 Prado. We have been on the search for our next project over the past 3 months and finally found one we are happy with, any guesses what we purchased?

Drawer and dual battery system is done, Added in a shunt to monitor the 100A/hr lithium battery and wired in left and right light outlets, added a few USB ports to charge devices while out bush. Air outlet added so I can air up tyres from the compressor.

Getting more done on the drawers and lithium system. 100Ah lithium and the optima start battery mounting done. Most of the wiring is done to support 2 lighting circuits with switches, water pump, 3 x 50A outlets to power fridges/oven and compressor that runs the air system/diff lockers.

Everything has been wired with bulkhead connectors so the whole system can be removed if I need to. Right side has been wired to support a 2000w inverter but unsure if I will install one. Lithium system is capable of 100A and the vehicle/start system 145A at idle.

Been a while since the last post. 5,000km in and the 3UZ is going strong with zero issues and some fine tuning of the transmission control. Took off the new bumper for a carbon 12K winch and MCC phoenix bar, considered painting it to suit the trim color but decided against it. Still have to sort out the air lines for diff lockers and compressor and we should be done.
