The Commonwealth Bank has threatened to cancel and close the accounts of a leading Australian businessman because he wouldn’t explain to them where his money came from and why he had sums of cash.

The CBA has sent the warning in writing to Louis Christopher, who runs leading investment research company SQM, ironically an organisation regularly quoted by the finance industry on trends in the real estate market.

Mr Christopher has described the bank’s extraordinary threat:

“Just out of the blue, the bank sent me the enclosed email and demanded to know:
1) How I have built up my wealth?
2) Why have I made cash withdrawals?
3) If I am holding cash at home, why?
4) Why did I make certain transactions to third parties.

“I called the bank and it was true. They were going to suspend all my accounts this week if I didn’t tell them the answers to the above questions. Said Austrac gave them the authority to do that.”

AUSTRAC is the government’s financial investigation and intelligence arm.

He’s described the ordeal as extraordinary.

“What I have just gone through this morning with CBA is disgusting. Absolute despicable, Orwellian stuff. Driven by Austrac”.

The Federal government has empowered banks to start questioning customers on what they are doing with cash and where sums deposited come from.

Mr Christopher said, “soon, you will be restricted on what you can and cannot spend. ‘That's too much money being spent on your next holiday, sir’."

Time for my baby to go to a new home in two weeks, one more formal to do then it goes up for sale. Sure going to miss my C10, will miss the sound, miss the grunt and miss the coolness.

Too many extras to list but a general overview, full alloy 406 cube SBC race engine (1000hp depending on fuel used), T350 race spec transmission, 4 link 9” rear end, electric power steering, Dakota digital dash and wiring, tubbed, double bead lock rims. Engine only driven 3 hours since original build.

Hours: 7am-4pm approximately

Boss Global Logistics is a growing freight forwarding and warehousing company operating throughout Queensland's metropolitan and regional areas. We are seeking to appoint an experienced Distribution Supervisor to join and lead our team in Gladstone to continue the steady growth. We are after someone from within our industry that is willing to hit the ground running!

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the operations including the co-ordination of transport, fleet allocation, attending to queries, maintaining relationships with existing clients, general office duties, general warehousing and forklift duties, manual handling, dealing directly with customers, and completion of relevant paperwork.

Your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities include:

Freight management of small parcels and bulk – approximately 1,500+ consignments per day
Handling escalated customer enquiries
Staff inductions
Supervising and responsibility for approximately 15 staff within the depot
Coordinating optimal vehicle run structure.
Fuel management reconciliation
Toolbox meetings and training
Staff rosters
Equipment management
Manual billing
Brand recognition/ development
Management reporting
Compliance

We need you to:

Be reliable, committed with an ambitious persona and a drive to grow within our business.
Awareness and understanding of Safety & Road Transport legislation pertaining to warehousing, load restraint and vehicle safety and road safety.
Lead by example with all aspects of transport operations and driver management
Be a team leader who will achieve results and drive positive morale of workers.
Have knowledge of the freight industry
Adhere to WHS legislations and company policies.
Be Proficient in all Microsoft programs.
Be a Self-motivated individual with an outgoing and confident personality.
Possess Strong communication skills.
Liaise with various internal departments and external clients.
Have a Positive, can-do attitude.
Hold a current open driver's license.
Have good written and verbal communication skills.

Apparently the below post labels me a racist

They say I live on stolen land.

But my great great Grandmother came here as a convict as a 13 year old child and built herself up from nothing.

Several generations of perseverance in a wild, untamed land we’ve build a future for my family.

I hear somehow for some unfathomable reasoning the multicultural Australia is still being held accountable by some long dead idiots actions committed against the indigenous generations ago 🤦‍♂️

But their population is increasing which is great to see, along with their standard of living and life expectancy.

They want me to feel guilty for my standard of living that I built from nothing, no hand outs, all learnt from the school of hard knocks.

I won't be made to feel guilty when I've done nothing wrong.

There's no blood on my hands and frankly I can’t change the past.

If you could choose to be born in any country, Australia would be close to the top of the list.

Sunshine, beaches, mountains, we are a multicultural nation.

A high income nation with an (overly) generous social welfare system.

With a very large % of aboriginals or as politically correct “first nations or indigenous” receive welfare.

Free money derived from the fruits of others' labour, but yet it’s never good enough.

And now an estimated over 50% of Australia is Native Title.

The majority of the country has been handed over to people free of charge on the basis of their race. But yet being born and bred as a causation Australian doesn’t account, no hand outs given to us 🤷‍♂️

But still there's complaints.

They march in the streets and burn my flag. 🇦🇺

And on Australia Day, if I have a BBQ at the beach I'm labelled a racist.

They want to change the date, to be honest, as a laidback Australian I'm not that concerned about which day I celebrate this nation.

As long as it's in summer and I get a public holiday.

As long as the whole nation supports it as ONE it's a day of joy, like it used to be.

Every memory I have of Australia day is cold drinks and the MMM Hottest 100.

The best day of the year.

It's nothing more than that.

A day to set aside the nonsense and enjoy what this land has to offer.

And what it's given us.
