🔧 The new Long Bed Lathe is officially making chips.

This job might not be pushing the machine to its full capacity, but our newest addition is up and running and getting to work. 👌

With 5 metres between centres and the capability to handle large shafts, rollers, pulleys and other heavy components, we're ready for the big jobs. 💪⚙️

This oversized swirler casting has made the journey from overseas, but the precision happens here.

Now in our workshop for final machining, our team is machining the bores and vane surfaces to the customer's exact specifications using our CNC milling capabilities.

If you've sourced a casting or component from overseas and need it brought to final tolerances, Dalzell & Bagley Engineering can help. We regularly machine imported components to achieve the fit, finish and precision required for service.

This stator arrived at the Dalzell & Bagley Engineering workshop with a damaged shaft. Rather than replacing the entire component, our team cut the shaft off and used our CNC milling capabilities to machine the old shaft out of the bore, preparing it for reclamation and return to service. 🔧

With a positive attitude and genuine willingness to help, Nick makes a valuable contribution every day. Congratulations, Nick!

August Employee of the Month – Pero Jancovic
Now in the fourth year of his apprenticeship, Pero has demonstrated an outstanding work ethic and commitment to continuous learning. He consistently puts in the hard yards, takes on new and unfamiliar tasks with confidence, and leads by example. Just as importantly, Pero shares his knowledge with younger apprentices, helping to develop their skills and confidence. His leadership and dedication make him a deserving recipient of this month's award. Congratulations, Pero!

From Rough Sketch to Working Solution.

A customer approached us with a rough sketch and a supplied chute box. Our design team took it from concept to completion, redrawing the assembly, designing custom components, validating fit with 3D-printed prototypes, and producing the final manufacturing drawings.

✅The result? A robust, precision-fit rock bin clamshell chute built for the demanding conditions of quarry operations.

🎉 A huge congratulations to Jack Peralta on completing his Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking)! 👏

Jack has achieved a huge amount during his apprenticeship with Dalzell & Bagley Engineering. Joining the team shortly after finishing school, he has completed his entire apprenticeship with us, developing his skills, knowledge, and confidence every step of the way.

Jack’s current supervisor, who has worked closely alongside him for the past two years, describes him as “a good young lad with huge potential for his future and a real asset to any company.”

Over that time, Jack has come a long way, not only technically, but in his confidence, communication, and ability to work effectively within the team. He is extremely easy to work with, communicates well and has grown immensely throughout his apprenticeship.

We are incredibly proud of how far Jack has come and, on Monday, he officially begins the next chapter of his career as a qualified tradesperson. We’re excited to see where his career takes him and have no doubt he has a very bright future ahead.

From specialised repairs to precision machine components, including the hidden parts that keep machinery running, we have the capability to get it done. ⚙️ If it's made from metal, we can machine it. 💪

This shaft lining is a great example. Our customer supplied the casting, and we took care of the rest, including precision turning, milling, internal countersinking using our horizontal and vertical borer.
