Just because people see results happening in their lives — even when their practices are imperfect or not supported by Scripture — does not mean those practices are approved by God.

For example, when the Israelites were desperate for water in the wilderness, God told Moses to speak to the rock. But Moses struck the rock twice instead. Even though he disobeyed, water still flowed out in abundance.

This shows that God, in His kindness, sometimes meets people’s needs despite their mistakes. But His kindness should never be taken as approval of wrong beliefs or practices.

So when someone says, “It works for me,” as a way to justify teachings or lifestyles that are not biblically sound, it shows a lack of understanding of God’s truth.

Many people today value “results” or “proofs of spirituality” because of their old pagan mindset — where anything that seems to work is automatically followed. But this is not how God works. God’s will is not measured by what seems effective, but by what is true according to His Word.

Those who proudly say, “You can’t argue with results,” should ask themselves which Bible they are reading. Many religious practices today look spiritual, but they are actually rooted in pagan ideas, not in God’s truth.

At the end of the day, God’s standards do not change. He will not adjust His ways just to agree with people’s preferences.

Who is Jehovah?
How do we understand this name in the New Testament? Today we learn that the name Jehovah first appears in Exodus 6:1-6 (KJV). Whoever led Israel out of Egypt is the one called Jehovah. So we must look for who actually led them.

God says in Exodus 23:20-21 (KJV):
“Behold, I send an Angel before thee… Beware of him, and obey his voice… for my name is in him.”

This shows an Angel was assigned to lead Israel, and this Angel carried the authority of the Lord who sent Him. Christ, “the Lord God,” sent this Angel (see Exodus 3:1-10 KJV), and said His own name was in that Angel.

The Lord warned Moses that this Angel would not pardon their transgressions. And true to that warning, each time Israel disobeyed, judgment came quickly.

Examples:
• Israel murmured and were bitten by serpents (Numbers 21:1-9 KJV)
• Many died for lusting after meat (Numbers 11 KJV)
• Korah, Dathan and Abiram were swallowed up (Numbers 16 KJV)
• Moses himself died because he struck the rock instead of speaking to it (Numbers 20:7-13 KJV)

This was the character of Jehovah as revealed in the Angel—strict and quick to judge.

The Angel even swore that all the adults who left Egypt, except Joshua and Caleb, would die in the wilderness (Numbers 14:26-33 KJV). Out of over two million people, only two entered Canaan. That is how severe that covenant was.

This same Angel appeared as the pillar of cloud and fire (Exodus 14:19-20; Numbers 20:15-16 KJV). Moses spoke to Him and called Him “Lord” (Numbers 16:5, 23, 40-41 KJV). This is the Angel who was on Mount Sinai for 40 days and wrote the law on the stone tablets (Exodus 31:18; Exodus 34:1-10 KJV).

When Moses spoke to the Lord “face to face” (Exodus 33:11 KJV), it was the glory of this Angel, because when Moses asked to see His full glory, the Angel said Moses would die (Exodus 33:18-23 KJV).

Stephen confirms this when he says Israel “received the law by the disposition of angels” (Acts 7:53 KJV).
Paul also says the law “was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator” (Galatians 3:19 KJV).

So Jehovah is the name connected to the assignment of the Angel who led Israel from Egypt, brought them to Canaan, and delivered the Old Testament law.

But what about the New Testament?

The Old Testament law has been replaced by the New Covenant of grace (Galatians 3:23-29 KJV; Hebrews 7:12 KJV).

Jesus never used the word Jehovah, and no New Testament writer uses it. Instead, they spoke of God as Father or Lord, and in Hebrew, His name is written as YHWH—the One Paul calls “the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 1:3 KJV).

God sits on His throne and never leaves it (Isaiah 66:1 KJV). Everyone who saw Him saw Him on His throne:
• Isaiah (Isaiah 6:1-2 KJV)
• Daniel (Daniel 7:9 KJV)
• Micaiah (1 Kings 22:19 KJV)
• John (Revelation 4:2 KJV)

So the One on the throne did not come down to give Israel the law—that was done by the Angel.

God is a description, not a personal name. Many beings are called gods in the world. Those who saw Him did their best to describe Him:
• Daniel: “Ancient of Days” (Daniel 7:9 KJV)
• Isaiah: “the Lord” (Isaiah 6:1 KJV)
• John: “One sat on the throne” (Revelation 4:2 KJV)

They could not fully name Him—He is beyond human naming and understanding.

Where does this leave the church?

In the New Testament, praying to Jehovah—the Angel of the Law—is wrong teaching. That Angel gave a covenant that killed, had no mercy, and led people only to a physical land where all eventually died.

But today we are in the hands of one Mediator, not an angel.

“There is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)

Jesus gives life, forgives, restores, and leads us from within, by the Holy Spirit.

He is the Leader and Founder of the New Testament Church.
Glory to Jesus Christ!

Be blessed.

1. The Common Misconception About Abraham’s Children

Many people today call themselves “children of Abraham” because Abraham was materially rich.

Genesis 13:2 (KJV)
“And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.”

People desire Abraham’s wealth—cattle, silver, and gold—rather than understanding his true significance. But if riches made someone’s children holy, why not call ourselves children of Solomon, who was richer, or even Bill Gates today? Clearly, being “Abraham’s child” is about something greater than material wealth.

2. Paul’s Position as a True Child of Abraham (By the Flesh)

Paul himself was of Abraham’s lineage, a Hebrew of Hebrews, directly descended from Israel.

Philippians 3:4–6 (KJV)
“Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.”

He also says:

Romans 9:1–5 (KJV)
“I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.”

Even so, Paul teaches that Abraham was not justified by lineage or works, but by faith.

Romans 4:3 (KJV)
“For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.”

3. Wealth Without Christ Is Vanity

King Solomon surpassed Abraham in wealth, wisdom, and honor.

1 Kings 3:10–13 (KJV)
“And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.”

Yet Solomon declared:

Ecclesiastes 2:11 (KJV)
“Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.”

This proves that wealth alone does not give true life or righteousness.

4. Abraham’s Place in Redemptive History

From Adam to Moses, death reigned because of sin.

Romans 5:12–14 (KJV)
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”

Abraham, as the twentieth from Adam, was under the same curse of sin and death. He himself needed salvation in Christ.

The Scripture tells us of the contrast:

1 Corinthians 15:45–47 (KJV)
“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.”

5. Abraham vs. Christ: Who Is Greater?

The Jews once challenged Jesus, claiming Abraham as their father.

John 8:58 (KJV)
“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.”

Abraham lived and died, but Jesus Christ lives forever, having conquered death.

Revelation 1:18 (KJV)
“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

Conclusion: Christ is greater than Abraham. Abraham needed Christ for eternal life, just as we do.

6. Abraham’s “Righteousness by Belief”

Abraham’s faith was counted to him as righteousness.

Genesis 15:6 (KJV)
“And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”

But this was not the fullness of righteousness in Christ—it was a shadow pointing forward.

Galatians 3:23–26 (KJV)
“But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

7. Abraham as an Allegory

Abraham’s two sons symbolize two covenants.

Galatians 4:21–26 (KJV)
“Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bo***ge, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bo***ge with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.”

This shows Abraham’s life and family were prophetic symbols pointing to Christ and His New Covenant.

8. Christ: The Fulfillment of Abraham’s Promise

Abraham rejoiced in the coming of Christ.

John 8:56 (KJV)
“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.”

The promise was that through Abraham’s seed, Christ, both Jews and Gentiles would be made one.

Galatians 3:16 (KJV)
“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”

Ephesians 2:11–13 (KJV)
“Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”

Key Takeaways
Being a child of Abraham is not about riches or bloodline but faith in Christ.
Abraham himself needed Christ for salvation, as death reigned from Adam until Christ came.
Abraham’s life was prophetic, an allegory pointing to Christ and His New Covenant.
Our hope is not in Abraham’s riches but in Christ Jesus, the giver of eternal life.

🌿 Sermon Insight: The Garden, the Woman, and the Glory of Man 🌿

The Garden of Eden holds more than just trees and rivers — it represents God’s design, responsibility, and glory. God gave the man, Adam, the instruction to dress and keep the Garden even before the woman was created:

Genesis 2:15 (KJV) – “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”

This was more than work; it was a test of obedience, stewardship, and alignment with God’s purpose. Unfortunately, the man failed, and disobedience brought consequences:

Genesis 3:23 (KJV) – “Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.”

The woman symbolizes the glory of the man. Knowing and honoring her reflects the man’s character. The words and teaching of the woman come from what she is taught by the man, highlighting the connection between obedience, stewardship, and relational glory.

🌧️ The Role of the Word (Rain)
The Word of God is like rain — it brings life and fruitfulness. Disobedience blocks the flow of blessing.

James 5:17 (KJV) – “Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.”

1 Corinthians 15:45 (KJV) – “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.”

The first Adam failed the test, but the last Adam, Jesus Christ, restores the blessing and opens the way for life and glory.

👑 Transfer of Glory
Glory in the Kingdom is given through obedience and keeping God’s Word. Jesus restores lost glory and opens understanding to all who follow Him.

Luke 24:45 (KJV) – “Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,”

Hebrews 1:2-3 (KJV) – “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:”

Through the Word and obedience, life, blessing, and glory flow, and the message of Jesus restores what was lost at the Garden.

💡 Key Learning Areas:
1. Obedience brings life and fruitfulness; disobedience leads to barrenness.
2. The woman symbolizes the glory of the man; understanding her reflects character.
3. Stewardship of God’s Word is essential for blessing and alignment.
4. God’s glory is transferred through keeping His Word and following His plan.
5. Jesus restores what was lost and opens our hearts to understanding.
