Connection Between Church & A Believer 4
Haggai 1:6 KJV
“Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.”
A meager harvest is usually blamed on droughts or pests, but for Israel in the time of Prophet Haggai, that was not the case. They experienced perfect rain patterns, planted abundant seed, and suffered no pest outbreaks—yet their yield remained drastically small.
Water from long-standing sources suddenly failed to quench their thirst. Israel was left bewildered by this unnatural behavior. They bought warm clothes and heavy blankets, yet the cold persisted.
Creation itself seemed to rebel: from the barren fields and ineffective water to the unwarming fabrics. It was then that the Lord revealed the root cause to Prophet Haggai: neglect in the house of God manifests as frustration in the home. God declared that because they left His house in ruins, everything else was turning against them. Your connection to God’s house directly sustains your physical world.
In a spiritual sense your fields attend church. Your profession attends church. Your clothing attends church. Your food attends church. Your water sources attend church—such that any disorder in your spiritual commitment causes the water to react.
All these blessings derive their ultimate purpose and stability from your dynamic relationship with God through His house. Neglect the house of God, and the things you rely on will begin to fail you.
Stay blessed
