During lunch today, 18 September, the SafeTop team stood together in solidarity against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), joining the call for greater awareness, accountability and an end to violence against women in South Africa.

As a team, we wore black in honour and remembrance of the women who tragically lost their lives over the past week. What should have been ordinary days became unimaginable heartbreak for families, friends and entire communities.

Our hearts are with every person who has lost a loved one to senseless violence. We stand with the families and communities mourning a sister, mother, daughter, friend, neighbour or colleague.

Today, we wore black because their lives mattered. We stood together because silence cannot be our response.

We remember them. We mourn with their families. We stand with South Africa’s women. 🖤
