Wirquin Manufacturing, a world class manufacturer and distributor of quality Sanware has an urgent vacancy to fill in the Maintenance Department.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kariega, South Africa, for a Toolmaker with Injection Moulding experience.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manufacture, repair & modify moulds and related componentry with accuracy and precision.
• Have the capability to update or create drawings, reflecting changes from ECR’s or Continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain / Repair moulds identified as problematic during production runs – measurement of mould components.
• Introduce / maintain mould component stock integrity system that will ensure critical spares availability in workshop.
• Operate Lathe, milling machine, Pedestal Drill, EDM, hand tools & measuring equipment.
• Identify, select, and apply Organisational Policies and Procedures
• Complete all necessary documentation related to mould repairs by inputting the data on a PC.
• Report all mould related Risks to Technical Manager.
• Guide the mould service Technician in mould servicing activities and ensure moulds are ready for production schedules.
• Take responsibility for personal development by assessing relevant learning material / resources and comply with Company assessment methodology.
• Conduct pre-operating inspections on moulds to determine operational fitness and safety of the machine and the environment.
• Share and discuss information and resolve issues which impact on safety, quality, and output standards.
• Apply quality procedures and standards to all areas of operating influence.
• Participate in all relevant safety, health, and environmental issues in the workplace.
• Perform relevant routine First Line Maintenance according to defined checklists and safety standards.
• Take responsibility for relevant operating tools and equipment and report on any problems experienced with these during the operation of these.
• Actively engage in continuous improvement practices (5 S)
• Assume responsibility for his area of work.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate must have:
• Good written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines.
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently & within a Team.
• Matric or equivalent NQF level with Recognised Trade test - Toolmaking Certification
• Proven background in plastic injection moulding is essential. (non-negotiable)

REMUNERATION:
Competitive market related salary with Provident fund.
