Dutton Motors was established in 1956 under sole ownership of Mr. Peter and Bob Dutton. Bob Dutton was still involved until August 2012. On 15 August 2012 the shareholding of Dutton Volkswagen changed hands to Mr. Selwyn and Rory Plitt. They are very experienced in the motor trade industry with a very successful business in Vereeniging operating in their family as Vereeniging Auto
(Motors) since the 1940's. Dutton Volkswagen believes that by becoming part of the Vereeniging Auto Group will bring synergy benefits to Dutton Volkswagen and their customers in the future. The core culture of a family business however remains unchanged and will continue to differentiate Dutton Volkswagen from other Volkswagen dealers in the years to come.

Dutton Volkswagen has a wide selection of used cars as well as being part of the Volkswagen country wide Mastercar supplier network.
