Junior Technician Wanted

Perfect Laser Technologies is seeking a Junior Technician to join our technical team!
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual who is looking to develop their career in a specialised technical environment.
The successful candidate will receive product, machine and software training. However, candidates are expected to have a good foundational understanding of technical principles, troubleshooting and problem-solving, together with the ability and willingness to learn quickly and retain technical information.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, setup, configuration and commissioning of various machines and equipment.
- Receive and apply training on the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of our various machines.
- Install and configure relevant software and assist with software-related troubleshooting.
- Diagnose technical problems and assist with identifying appropriate solutions.
- Perform in-house repairs and maintenance on machinery and equipment where required.
- Provide technical assistance and support to clients, both on-site and remotely.
- Assist with client training to ensure users understand the correct operation and basic maintenance of their equipment.
- Maintain accurate service records and document technical issues and resolutions.
- Ensure showroom and demonstration equipment remains operational, maintained and presentable.
- Continue developing technical knowledge through ongoing training and practical experience.
- Travel to client sites for installations, servicing, repairs and technical support when required.
The successful candidate should have:
- A relevant technical background, qualification, experience or practical skill set applicable to a technical environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, electronic, IT, engineering or similar technical aptitude.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to learn new technical information quickly and, importantly, retain and apply that knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to diagnosing problems.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to communicate professionally with clients.
- The ability to explain technical information clearly and patiently.
- A willingness to work in a hands-on environment and learn through both formal training and practical experience.
- A Valid driver’s license.
- A Matric (Grade 12) certificate is required as a minimum.
- Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
Remuneration
Salary will be determined based on the candidate’s demonstrated skill level, relevant experience, qualifications and outcome of the company’s skills assessment during the recruitment process.
