Dear valued client
GCS would like to inform you of an important update regarding the proposed VAT increase.
According to the Media Statement on Reversal of VAT Increase, issued by the Ministry of Finance on 24 April 2025, the Minister has officially withdrawn the Appropriation Bill and the Division of Revenue Bill.
In its place, the Minister of Finance will soon introduce the Rates and Monetary Amounts and Amendment of Revenue Laws Bill (Rates Bill). This bill proposes to maintain the current Value-Added Tax (VAT) rate at 15%, effective 1 May 2025, reversing the VAT increase announced in the March Budget.
As a result, there will be no changes to VAT rated services.
We appreciate your continued support and understanding
Should you have any concerns or require further information, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
