On Size Engineering On Size Engineering specializes in on site line boring.

Line boring is the process where the inside diameter of existing worn bores are reduced by means of welding and then machined back to original equipment manufacturer specifications, making the centerlines of two or more bores collinear. Collinear bores appear in several large machine components such as excavator booms, sticks and buckets, dump truck bowls, gearboxes, presses. Precision alignment i

s of utmost importance on these machines, which is why line boring is commonly used to repair multiple collinear worn bores. Mobile line boring services are becoming the preferred service chosen by clients due to the high transport and road freight permit costs of large machine components.

Got asked to line bore a CAT R1700 bucket.Read on here that it's not a nice job.I only have the 1.8meter boring bar, tried renting a 2.4m but was not available at the time.Being a one man show I knew it was going to be even more challenging. So I built myself a powerfeed that fits on the feedbox which I can control from the other side of the bucket. Lots of room for improvement but it got the job done and it held up.
