If your previous Fire Link report identified damaged, defective or additional equipment requiring attention, year-end is a good time to revisit those recommendations and close out outstanding items before 2027.

December holidays give schools something they rarely have during term: quieter buildings.

It’s an ideal opportunity to have firefighting equipment inspected and serviced, attend to hose reels and hydrants, investigate fire detection faults and complete remedial work with less disruption to teaching.

Fire equipment is there for the day you hope never comes.
Keeping it properly inspected and maintained is important for life safety, but fire-protection measures may also form part of your insurer’s risk requirements or policy conditions.
An extinguisher hanging on the wall is not the same thing as knowing it is serviceable.

Before year-end, check when your equipment was last serviced, deal with outstanding defects and review any recommendations you’ve been putting off. Small footer: Always refer to your individual insurance policy for specific requirements.
