Hey there. Back again, this time to show off the Lexus Ls400 build we've been busy with. It's almost done and we want to hopefully showcase it at Gas Motorshow. This post might seem a little flamboyant but we are proud of where we at with this vehicle and as a business we aim to present ourselves in the highest esteem. We want to deliver premium products to our clients and what better way than to walk the walk as opposed to talking the talk.
When we acquired this car, it was not running standing for years and had rats lol yes rats! baby ones to be exact. I guess we got saved (Perhaps their teeth were not fully developed yet lol😁)
The aim was to build a car that stands out to showcase what we are about, and we think we've nailed it. The car has had a complete make over making it a 1 OF 1 black on black in S.A. The exterior sports a fresh paint job inside and out. CUSTOM 1 of 1 billet wheels in triple chrome and she rides STATIC boys. A set of BC coilovers. Inside has had a host of luxury touches from Japans VIP specialists Junction Produce. The curtains, the cushions, the starlight hood lining. You name it we imported it ALL OURSELVES. The car also features interior from an imported Celsior (the Japanese equivalent to the ls400) making it THE ONLY MODEL IN SA to have the wooden steering wheel and heated seats! A decent sound system was fitted and it fits like factory. No additional holes or cutting was done to the vehicle. The aim again was to keep it clean and classy. Small details matter on a proper build. We did say 1 of 1! There's still custom VIP trays on the way and a few other little bits to tie it all up. No expense was spared and no shortcuts were taken on the car, and we just thought we would show you progress thus far. It now sits alongside our other shop car (The highly modified R32 GTR)

Hey there. It's us again😁 Sorry we've been quiet. We've been busy and today we want to show you guys what's been brewing. Many know our R32 GTR shop car and the extent to which it has been modified and maintained over the last few years using only the best parts. We felt it was time to jump into another project. One, a polar opposite of the loud, gnarly Skyline so we bought this...

A 1999 Lexus Ls400. A rare sight in South Africa but common abroad. Needless to say, the goal is to get it to be THE BEST ls400 locally and we aren't playing when we say that. We wanted a true VIP build. Scroll through the pictures to get an idea of the extent to which this car is being transformed. We want to follow the same ideology we have with the skyline which is no cutting corners and ONLY the best parts. Nothing cheap and inferior. A quality classy build that embodies what our business has always been about which is being involved in clients high end projects supplying premium automotive parts.

We started off with a vehicle which has been standing for a number of years not running, paint tired from being exposed to the harsh weather elements and an interior which was decent surprisingly but tattered here and there. We wasted no time in sourcing all the running gear timing kit, new fluids, new brake discs and pads all round to get the car running again (Check out the picture of the old brake discs🫣)

The next step was to strip the car down completely (All trim, seats, carpets, dash etc was removed) to have the car repainted INSIDE AND OUT. It just needed a blow over but we other plans from the start. We wanted to do a full black on black VIP style car. Whilst the car was at a panel shop, we sourced full OEM black interior from an import LS as well as all the items which were worn or damaged on our project so that everything on the vehicle would work as it should have from factory. We retrimmed EVERYTHING from the hood lining to the parcel shelf and had all the grey interior stuff dyed in black (The factory floor carpet was hideous as can be seen in the pictures). We upgraded the factory sound system using all OEM bracketry and housings so that you would never tell from a glance, again just keeping with the classy finish.

**Fun fact is the OEM interior sourced has the seat belt clips with the factory lights in them as well as the OEM Heated seats both front and rear. We are 99.9% certain there is NO OTHER LS400 in South Africa which has that 🥹

Our build would not be complete if we didn't import some cool parts which is what we do 😎 so for the interior all the VIP glitzy stuff from Japanese VIP kings junction produce (Google search these guys) were sourced from curtains to cushions as well as neck pillows. These items compliment the OEM Black interior tastefully. We also did the starlight hood lining to give it that aura is exuberates.
Wheels, tyres and suspension are key in building a VIP car of this calibre. We opted for some quality BC coilovers over air (Personal preference) and had a custom set of wheels made for it (BILLET centres with floating caps and triple chrome) which we think look (insert F profanity here) fire 🔥

This project has only been with us for 5 months so far and we are already waaaay over budget, but we want to hit levels. We pride ourselves on selecting cars that stand out and modifying them tastefully, so we have no intention to stop here. While we have some traction going for us we might as well make use of it. Some are revealing local cars while others are abroad enjoying the SEMA show let us reveal a little more of what we would deem a SEMA build being conjured right here on local South African soil!!

This car is not to be forgotten. We showed a tiny bit of it early this year but behind the scenes alot of work is being put into it. A build of this calibre is not done overnight. The paint needs the be flawless and the quality of parts needs to be peak so take a look and see for yourself. This r33 GTR is stripped right down and being built ground up again. It has only the best on offer and let me reiterate that this is the ONLY one of it's kind in AFRICA. There is no other skyline with a build/part list this big so credit where credit is due. The owner pulled out all the stops and no shortcuts were taken.
90% of the parts were sourced by us and the customer has elected Ben from BK Performance to work his magic and put it all together. So far he is doing great!

This car has a plethora of parts from your top international Skyline/ Rb gurus.
First and foremost it would be running a full GTR Proshop Garage Active widebody kit. Mr Sakamoto San who everyone should know by now as his "carbon fibre" catch phrase is all over social media😁 He is a well known figure in the skyline community for his international widebody carbon fibre builds which debuted at SEMA and Tokyo auto salon. This kit is a first for Africa. NO replica/ copies here! Best part about it is that he personally signed it. Ho badass is that which makes this even more rare and special. This car will also be rolling on Garage Actives Custom wheels which again make this the first and only set on the continent. Alot of firsts for this car. It sets the benchmark going forward

The car has the full catalogue from Platinum Racing Products including the ONLY Billet integrated dry sump kit on a skyline here in Africa. PRP billet gears, billet diff hat, billet alternator kit, billet pro trigger kit heck even billet radiator brackets. Well you get the picture, lots of PRP and lots of billet💪

Billet is not all it has. Titanium and carbon garnish this car with a full Tomei titanium catback exhaust system and a Nismo titanium strut brace. It has way more Nismo goodies as can be seen scrolling through the pictures. The car also sports a fully built motor from top to bottom comprising of a spool stroker kit with a PRP Billet block brace and supertech valvetrain. The cold side is a CPC - Manifolds & Machining carbon intake plenum which looks absolutely mental 😍😍 and for the hot side 6boost manifold and a Garrett G35 -1050 as it is a streetcar after all and driveability is key. Owner even went as far as to reinstall a full Frenchys Performance garage Aircon kit as the OEM aircon system was removed.
A Dahtone Racing catch can was needed to make the engine bay pretty (These tanks are beautifully crafted🥹) as well as Ross performance billet cam covers for that unique look. The suspension is taken care of by a full gktech.com control arm kit along with Superpro Bushes bush kit. MCA coilovers was the coilover of choice because why not. They have been proven to work well and they look good too!😎 Oh did we mention the car runs EVERY shaft from The Driveshaft Shop including their CARBON PROPSHAFT!!🤩🤩 We have abit of South African flavour in there too with locally manufactured Vari brakes. A motive carbon headlight duct was sourced to give the exterior that menacing look and all new OEM trims, panels, rubbers, weatherstrips etc was sourced to ensure this car looks brand spanking new from every angle when complete. There is waaay more to the parts list but we do not want to write a book lol. Enjoy what we uploaded for now.

‼️Appreciation Post with a twist‼️
Message from the director

Japan Drive is over and the dust is settling. I just want to say thank you to each and every person who came out and spoke to me and complimented the car. The weekend was amazing and I met so many new and old faces. The cars at the show were top class too. I felt doing an appreciation post for the shop car would be a nice touch for our customers to get to know us and what we do. So, where do we begin.

I purchased this vehicle back in 2012 waaaay before importing was mainstream and I have owned it ever since. I am the first owner of this car since it touched down on South African soil and will not sell it ever. It will be passed down to my kid who can decide what he wants to do with it when the time comes. It started life stock as can be seen scrolling through the pictures. I remember clear as day selling my s15 and going to the bank to take a loan to buy my dream car. Was probably earning around 5k gross back then. After the loan repayment I was taking home R1800🫣 but hey I got my dream car right😂. Few months passed and it broke the turbos. It sat for months while I saved whatever I could (mind you all this while still paying off the bank loan). We got it fixed and I drove it for a year before it shat the oil pump taking some engine components with it (typical RB problems). Fixed that up and enjoyed the car for what seemed short lived before it broke the oil pump AGAIN🤦

It was at this point (2017) I set out to build in my eyes what I would want to be the best R32 GTR in South Africa. It was a slow process of collecting parts and I took a lot of inspiration from the Australians as they had and still have the best skylines in the world in my opinion. No shortcuts and no expenses spared. It took roughly 4 years but needless to say when the car was done there was no other RB engine bay that looked the way it did locally. Drenched in the very best that Australia had to offer. I was proud. I had achieved the goal I set out to reach.

If you made it this far then let me tell you that this post isn't directly related to the car itself but the journey I had with it. You see along the way I met various people who were intrigued with the build, curious to get their hands on similar parts for their vehicles and so I used the opportunity to start a business specialising in these cars. The people I met were random strangers online wanting to enquire about the parts, parts suppliers or simply just guys and girls who appreciated the effort put into the build and passed a good remark. Most of these people have now become good friends and I see them every now and then.

The remarkable part about all of this is that almost everyone reading this has a similar story just with your own vehicle. It's amazing that heap of metal, glass and plastic moulded together would form the dreams of many and through these vehicles we meet people who become part of our lives, we use these vehicles day to day and unknown to us at the time create memories which are embedded in our minds that live with us long after the cars and the people we met because of them are gone. So keep the passion for your cars going but most of all involve the people around you because it would be nothing without them. That is why we take our cars to these events and why we have social car groups because the people who share the same passion and drive keep us going. They give us that little pat on the back to say "well done". Those comments about our car make all the late nights, the debt, the frustrations etc worth it.

So what about the car above. Well I recently threw on a lot of carbon parts on the exterior and I must say I'm loving the look🔥 It was hard work getting them to fit properly but I too sat late hours, frustrated almost wanting to throw them out and put the stock panels back but encouragement from those around my circle in the car scene was the nudge I needed to get it done.

From the onset I set out to build the best all round skyline in South Africa. Have I achieved it? I will let you decide but there will be more to come. The goal posts just get shifted every time😁

I will however say that my love for this brand and the JDM cars has resonated with our clients and because of that there are now way more high calibre builds in South Africa. I am proud to say I have had a hand in each and everyone of these cars and cannot say thank you enough to everyone who has trusted me and used my business for their cars. Unveiling these wheels which were brought in last month for . SP5 3 piece split wheels from .wheel Flaming hot and should sit proper on the clients 1000hp plus mk4 supra🔥💪 Wrapping them up was a no brainer and some re71rs tyres were chosen. We must say the tread pattern looks sick😎 by the way the sun wasn't a paid actor😝

Long time loyal client. s13 silvia has come a long way from what it use to be and we thank him for his continuous support over the years. He also seems to have a hunger for parts😅
Heres to bigger and better. We know it's coming😉
