From bursary student to BIM Manager — an inspiring journey in engineering!

Lize-Mari Erasmus discovered her passion for technical drawing in school, which earned her a bursary to study drafting. What started as a love for drawing has grown into a leadership role as BIM Manager at Converge Consulting, where she now oversees digital models that bring projects from concept to reality.

“Tough times are only temporary, but the projects we create can last a lifetime.”

Her proudest achievement? Rejoining Converge Consulting — a place where she feels at home and is excited to shape the future of engineering.

Her advice to young women considering this career:
“Engineering is rewarding and diverse — from drafting and project management to pure engineering, there’s a place for everyone.”

Engineering the future today – inspiring Cape Town’s youth through Science Week!

The City of Cape Town’s libraries have kicked off Science Week (2–8 August) with 33 libraries across the metro hosting workshops in coding, robotics, chemistry and more. It’s all about unlocking potential and showing young minds what’s possible in a city filled with opportunity.

We’re thrilled to share the official launch of the Vergelegen Plein Shopping Centre, a major redevelopment of the old Vergelegen Mall including the addition of new retail and office areas, in the heart of the Helderberg community.

Bridging Dreams to Careers!

On 31 March, Converge Consulting had the absolute pleasure of hosting six bright and ambitious Grade 12 learners from the Go for Gold Phase 1 programme for an unforgettable Job Shadow Experience.

The goal? To give these future industry leaders a real-world glimpse into the exciting world of engineering, construction, and innovation. And what a day it was!

👷‍♀️ First stop: Groot Phesantekraal Shopping Centre — still under construction! Learners geared up for a site tour and got hands-on insight into substations, distribution boards, and the energy behind a building coming to life.

💡 Next stop: Eagle Lighting — where the team explored the latest in lighting technology, smart control systems, and got a behind-the-scenes look at local manufacturing in action.

☀️ Final stop: Solar MD — home to South Africa’s first gigawatt factory! Here, the learners toured the factory floor and saw first-hand how cutting-edge solar technology is being developed to power a greener future.

We are so proud to support initiatives like Go for Gold — opening doors, sparking curiosity, and inspiring tomorrow’s talent.
