🔧 SHUTDOWN WORK IN PROGRESS | ZEERUST

Another asphalt plant shutdown underway for the Specialized Steel Worx team.

Our crew is currently on site in Zeerust, carrying out extensive maintenance and repairs to the asphalt dryer drum during the scheduled shutdown.

Scope of work includes:

⚙️ Replacement of worn dryer drum scrolls
⚙️ Replacement of drum lifters
🔥 Repairs to the dryer drum
🔧 Removal and replacement of the bitumen injector pipe
🛠️ General fabrication, welding and mechanical repairs as required

Shutdown work is all about making the most of a limited window — getting in, getting the work done properly, and getting the plant ready to go back into production.

The SSW team is on it. 💪🏼

🏗️ GENERATOR ENCLOSURE PROJECT – PHASE 1 COMPLETE ✔

The structural steel framework and roof sheeting installation for this generator enclosure project have now been completed.

This phase included the fabrication, supply and installation of a custom steel structure designed to provide protection for the client's critical power generation equipment.

A big thank you to our team for their hard work and commitment in delivering another quality installation.

Shutdown complete. ✔️

After a demanding weekend of 12-hour shifts, the SSW team successfully completed the reconditioning and replacement of the RAP Ring and Chute ahead of schedule.

By delivering the project early, the client was able to carry out additional maintenance work before plant restart, maximising the value of their shutdown window.

Projects like these demonstrate the importance of planning, teamwork, and precise ex*****on when every hour of downtime counts.
