Our Induna, Etienne, has requested we tell the public who the behind the scene spinners are, hence this very insightful post.

On the far left, the wonderful Director of Hire herself, Michelle, aka The Unicorn, because she is beautiful and has fairy dust. HR remains the office’s most complex mythological creature. She’s the one who actually knows how to use the payroll system, knows all the secrets and is surprisingly skilled at finding unique ways of keeping the wheels turning. No, she has no “OPEN” sign to the public. She spends her days locked in a dark room with only her puppies as companions ensuring that our lights stay on.

On the far right, the Audit Whisperer, Nina, aka The Ninja. A highly caffeinated, spreadsheet-worshipping, human calculator who lives in fear of a 1-cent discrepancy. She speaks fluent Excel and believes that if a problem can’t be solved with a pivot table, it’s not worth solving. During the last & first week of the month, she is not human; merely a conduit for reconciliations. She is a part-time sorcerer and part-time detective hunting down missing pennies, often found wearing a "look of profound suspicion" . The most infectious laugh and calm demeanour when assisting customers in understanding their accounts, but do not mistake this curly haired for a pushover, she carries a green lunch bag with half bricks for easy access.

In the middle we have the Manager, Natalie, aka The Octopus. A fascinating species, operating somewhere between a corporate therapist and a benevolent dictator. The gatekeeper of the word “NO”The person who can say "Per my last email" while smiling. Acting as the neutral, "never-wrong" buffer between employees and customers. Professionally qualified to serve as a psychologist, event planner, and debt collector—often within the same 30-minute meeting. She spends her days solving problems you didn't know you had, in ways you don't always understand, such as trying to make the office "idiot-proof" only to discover that the world keeps building better idiots.
