Spec-Cast Engineering was founded in 1986 by Clive Hampson specializing in the manufacture and supply of patterns as well as castings and forgings. After years of trading within the industry, Spec-Cast became one of the top manufacturers supplying the railway industry with replacement parts for coaches, wagons and locomotives. Over and above the railway sector, Spec-Cast became very well known as
one of the top manufacturers for both ferrous and non-ferrous castings for several industries. In 2005, Spec-Cast launched a new division, Spec-Cast Wear Parts (Pty) Ltd, specializing in replacement wear parts for the Construction, Mining and Agricultural Sectors. In 2014 Spec-Cast Engineering partnered up with Qadbros Engineering, a global manufacturer of front end milling equipment and spares. Spec-Cast formed a new division within our group of companies called Sonkor Engineering which allowed us to extend our business into the Sugar Sector. The Spec-Cast Group of companies is a proud contributor towards the Black Economic Empowerment initiative, holding 51% black ownership within our Group, maintaining a level 2 BBBEE rating. Spec-Cast is a customer driven group of companies continually investing resources in the design and production of superior product offerings.
