In conversation with Adhir Ramborosa, Area Sales Manager, FLIR | RS Connect

Most organisations believe they are practising predictive maintenance. In reality, they are working with limited visibility and reacting too late.

In today’s environment, the biggest risks and cost drivers sit beneath the surface. Hidden failures, undetected energy loss, and inefficiencies quietly impact performance without being picked up.

This is where thermal and acoustic imaging are becoming essential. They help uncover what would otherwise go unnoticed and give teams the visibility needed to act earlier and make better decisions.

The organisations pulling ahead are not doing more maintenance. They are seeing more.

The question is, how much of your operation are you not seeing?

What defines supplier performance in today's procurement environment?

The latest CIPS and RS Indirect Procurement Report reveals that procurement professionals rank supplier performance indicators as follows:

✅ Delivery on time – 65%
✅ Quality – 61%
✅ Price – 52%
✅ Availability – 45%
✅ Responsiveness – 44%

What's particularly interesting is that reliability and quality continue to outperform price as the leading measures of supplier performance.

This reflects a broader shift in procurement priorities. In an environment where supply chain disruptions, operational resilience, and business continuity remain key concerns, organisations are increasingly valuing suppliers who can consistently deliver, maintain quality standards, and respond quickly to changing requirements.

The findings suggest that supplier relationships are evolving from transactional cost management to strategic partnerships focused on long-term value creation.

How do these findings compare with your organisation's supplier evaluation criteria?
