What exactly is a “Jobbing Engineering Shop”? 🛠️⚙️

Most people are familiar with factories that produce thousands of identical products. A jobbing engineering shop is the exact opposite.

Instead of mass production, we focus on one-off jobs, repairs, modifications, and custom solutions — where every project is different.

At The Little Factory, that might mean:
Repairing specialized audio or video equipment 📹
Manufacturing replacement parts when spares are no longer available 🔧
Modifying equipment to improve functionality 📈
Building custom technical solutions when no off-the-shelf product exists 💡
Some days that means machining a small mechanical part on the lathe. Other days it means reverse engineering a component, repairing a tripod, sewing a custom equipment cover, or building a unique cable assembly.

That’s the nature of a jobbing shop — solving technical problems one project at a time.
