ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL PROJECT | FOUR INDUSTRIAL OVENS FOR AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED GEARED-MOTOR AND DRIVE-TECHNOLOGY OEM

Could bringing critical thermal processes in-house improve your control over quality, costs and turnaround times?

Bendet Engineering Services completed the multidisciplinary installation, integration and commissioning of four industrial ovens as part of the client’s vertical-integration strategy:

• Breakdown oven for smaller components
• Burn-off oven for processing motor stators
• Batch oven for components weighing up to five tonnes
• Top-hat oven for tempering steel frames

Bendet’s coordinated scope included mechanical and electrical installation, extraction and ducting, PLC and HMI programming, instrumentation, temperature sensors, safety interlocks, testing, commissioning, operator training and handover documentation.

Each oven serves a different purpose, but all four had to be integrated into the client’s production and maintenance environment. The mechanical, electrical, extraction, automation and safety systems had to operate together according to the agreed specifications.

Effective communication between Bendet and the client supported the coordination of technical requirements throughout the project.
Four industrial ovens. Four different applications. One coordinated engineering project.

A site team cannot always control the order in which international shipments arrive. It can control how quickly and effectively it responds.

Following the procurement, fabrication, preassembly and dispatch stages, Bendet Engineering Services’ experienced core installation team moved into the site-installation phase of this industrial wet-spray paint plant in Saudi Arabia.

Although the components had been packed according to installation priorities, the order in which the shipments were received could not be guaranteed. When materials arrived out of sequence, the team did not allow the entire installation programme to stand still.

Bendet prepared the remaining components and progressed with the sections for which equipment was available. This allowed productive work to continue while outstanding deliveries remained in transit.

The timing also had to be coordinated with the activities of other contractors on site. By using the available preparation work effectively, the team experienced very little unproductive waiting and could begin the main installation close to the planned sequence.

Bendet retained an experienced core installation team on site, carrying the project knowledge developed during the design, fabrication and preassembly stages. This team leads and guides local labour during ex*****on, providing hands-on support where additional direction is needed to maintain the required pace and installation standard.

Site installation rarely follows a perfectly fixed sequence. Access restrictions, changing site conditions, scope adjustments, contractor interfaces and delivery timing can all affect what happens next.

Bendet’s ability to adapt is supported by practical decision-making, transparent communication and close cooperation with local labour, suppliers and the wider contractor team.

Installation capability is not only about assembling equipment. It is about knowing what can move next when the original sequence changes.

SAUDI PROJECT | 25 CONTAINERS, 13 SHIPMENTS, ONE COORDINATED PLANT
A plant built in one country and installed in another is only as strong as the planning behind every delivery.

Once Bendet completed the design & planning phase, the focus shifted to turning approved engineering information into procured materials, fabricated equipment and installation-ready components.

For this industrial wet-spray paint plant in Saudi Arabia, Bendet kept procurement tightly aligned with design releases, fabrication priorities & the planned installation sequence, coordinating materials, manufactured components & specialist equipment from local & international suppliers.

Bendet tracked long-lead & specialist items against the project programme, so fabrication could start on available materials while outstanding components were still being sourced.

As materials arrived, Bendet moved straight into fabrication & preassembly. Components and assemblies were checked before dispatch for dimensions, fitment & interfaces, so potential installation concerns were picked up in the workshop rather than discovered on site.

The logistics alone show the scale of the task: 25 off 40ft High Cube containers dispatched across 13 sea-freight shipments, supported by two airfreight shipments from Italy & two from South Africa.

Then the programme was put to the test. Regional shipping disruptions extended some delivery windows by approximately 20 to 50 days, & the loading sequence could not guarantee the order in which shipments would reach site.

This is where Bendet's planning made the difference. Procurement, fabrication, packing & installation priorities were coordinated through one project programme. Every component was identified, grouped and packed according to the installation requirements, so the site team knew where each item belonged & when it would be needed.

When materials arrived out of sequence, Bendet did not stand still. The team prepared the remaining components and progressed the sections for which equipment was available, keeping productive work moving while outstanding deliveries were in transit.

Bendet's experienced core installation team carried the project knowledge through to site & guided local labour during ex*****on. Detailed planning, clear communication & close cooperation with suppliers & other contractors allowed Bendet to adapt to changing delivery and site conditions while maintaining the project's technical requirements.

Fabrication capability matters. Delivering it across borders, through disruption & out of sequence, is the real test.

More than one million components.
One coordinated plant.

In August 2025, Bendet Engineering Services began designing a new robotic wet-spray paint plant for a manufacturing client in Saudi Arabia.

The work that followed took the plant from 3D design through fabrication, preassembly, bundling, wrapping and strapping, ready for shipment to site.

Delivering a plant of this scale across borders brings practical challenges that must be solved long before equipment arrives on site:
• Integrating the robotic application with the spray booth,
airflow and paint-arresting design
• Controlling more than one million components, including
bolts, nuts and fittings, so that nothing is missing or mixed up
when the shipment is opened on site
• Selecting the right materials for a wet-spray environment,
including stainless steel where corrosion resistance is required,
glass for visibility and light, and rubber seals to keep booth
enclosures sealed
• Preassembling sections to check fit and alignment before
dispatch, then breaking them down for transport
• Protecting fabricated components against movement, impact
and moisture during long-distance shipping and handling
• Coordinating design, fabrication and logistics with the client
and project partners across different locations and time zones

Bendet's multidisciplinary team addressed these through coordinated 3D design, controlled fabrication, preassembly in the workshop, and careful bundling, wrapping and strapping of components for shipment.

The aim is practical: sections that have already been fitted together, components that are accounted for, and a site team that can focus on installation rather than rework.

Working closely with the client and other project partners, the team completed this stage of the project earlier than anticipated. The plant has now progressed to site installation.

Some design questions need a physical answer.

Bendet Engineering Services can scan suitable existing components and produce 3D-printed prototypes to support fitment, geometry and assembly reviews before committing to fabrication or production.

The process—Scan. Print. Validate.—provides engineering teams with a physical prototype that can be examined and discussed during the development process.

Have a component that needs to be scanned and converted into a prototype? Contact Bendet Engineering Services to discuss your requirements.
