What is an interlayer's melt viscosity and why does it matter?

One of the key properties of evguard® is its specially designed low melt viscosity, which enables successful lamination of premium, sensitive, value-added inserts and uneven or curved surfaces. When heated, it flows easily to fill voids and deviations without harming insert materials such as textiles, wood, paper, stone, polyester, polycarbonate, metals, meshes, LC films, LEDs and solar PV modules. Why Structural Silicone Glazing Demands the Right Sealant

Structural Silicone Glazing (SSG) — also known as flush glazing — is a system of bonding glass to a curtain wall’s structural framing members. Structural silicone is not simply a sealant — it is part of the structural load path of the curtain wall.

The performance demands on that silicone joint are significant. It must transfer dynamic wind loads safely from the glass to the framing members, withstand UV radiation, extreme temperatures, moisture, seismic activity, vibration and structural movement — for a service life that can exceed 40 years.
