Yes, batteries can explode if not utilised correctly. A faulty alternator or charger could result in a situation whereby the battery may overcharge to such an extent that an explosion may occur.

Additionally, excessively high ambient temperature or incorrect application may lead to loss of electrolytes and a potential battery explosion. Make sure you are using the correct battery for the correct application.
