Hospital Fire Water Ring Main Upgrade – Progress Update!

Works are progressing well on site, with trenching activities nearing completion and preparations underway for the installation of pipework that will connect the hospital building blocks to the newly constructed fire water ring main system.

This critical infrastructure upgrade will provide a dedicated fire protection backbone for the hospital facility, incorporating fire water backup, and boosting capabilities to significantly strengthen safety, reliability, and operational resilience.

Historically, the hospital relied solely on the municipal water supply to meet both domestic and firefighting demands. The new ring main system, supplied from a purpose-built fire water storage tank, introduces a dedicated and reliable firefighting water source, ensuring improved preparedness and protection across the entire facility.

At Mech-Stream Engineering, we are proud to be serving as the Fire Engineers on this important project, contributing to infrastructure that protects lives, safeguards assets, and supports the continuity of essential healthcare services.

Project Update: From Pipework to Perfection

One of our Commercial Office projects is nearing completion, with our wet services installation work successfully delivered and final touches underway.

Our scope of work included:

✅ Integration of new kitchenette sinks into the existing cold water supply network
✅ Hot water supply via under-basin geysers and hydro boils
✅ Electric geysers for bathroom showers
✅ Drainage installation integrated into the existing system

One of the key challenges was the absence of as-built drawings, requiring detailed site assessments and careful planning to seamlessly integrate the new systems into the existing infrastructure.

This project is a reminder that behind every high-performing commercial space is precision engineering that often goes unseen.
