Wynberg Sector 1 Neighbourhood Watch

Wynberg Sector 1 Neighbourhood Watch The WS1NW is a community organisation that aims to improve safety and security. What is the Wynberg Sector 1 Neighbourhood Watch? See our boundaries here. No.

Click here http://wynbergwatch.com/register.aspx to join the Wynberg Sector 1 Neighbourhood Watch so you can participate and stay up to date with crime incidents, news and other important information. Why should I join? Joining allows you to stay informed and participate in improving safety and security. Do I have to live in Wynberg Sector 1 to join? Membership is open to any interested party. How

often do I have to patrol? Never. While we would love as many patrollers as we can get, we appreciate that not everybody can patrol. Patrollers are required to undergo clearance by SAPS and training before they can patrol. How much does it cost to be a member? The voluntary membership fee is R120 per year. Your money allows us to buy and maintain the equipment needed to patrol. The more equipment we have the more patrollers we can put on the streets and the safer we'll all be. Here are our banking details.

Greetings all! Compliments of the season to you from from the Wynberg Sector 1 Neighbourhood Watch. We are in need of more donors for this project, which we take on every year. Whilst many of us are able to be home with our families observing these holidays over the festive season, those on the front lines are not. In this spirit we would like you to please consider supporting this endeavour.

Calling local artists!

Birds are singing and new leaves are shooting out…which means - POP-UP ART GALLERY SEASON is upon us!
Time to dust off the winter fluff and get some colour back into the city.

- Are you an artist?
- Do you create art of any form or medium?
- You’ve never exhibited, but want to and don’t know where to start?
- Do you currently have art exhibits - but are interested in showcasing your work at many and different gallery locations?
- Do you find it difficult to approach a formal gallery atmosphere with your work?
- Are you already an established artist and want your art to reach a wider demographic and age level?

Art Experience is once again looking for more artists to join the team this coming season. Our outdoor gallery concept last year was such a hit, that this year we have been getting enquiries and requests to do the same – and more!
Over the next few months, we have an exciting itinerary planned – both as an independent gallery and also featuring at various events. We hope to reach as many artists as possible to apply, be involved and benefit from the initiative.
*The pop-up galleries will be open for 1 – 2 days maximum at a time, locations will vary as will the featuring art or live artists.
*This is for artists of any level / recognition / medium.
*No exhibition experience necessary and no application / exhibiting fees required.

Being artists and art lovers ourselves, we’ve understood the struggle of finding an inviting space to exhibit work or even visit as a patron. Indoor venues have certain limitations on what they can accommodate and can seem unwelcome to visit as a family outing or a casual day-out with friends.
We want to break the stereotypical idea of ‘art galleries’ and bring a more inviting and interactive experience to both the artist and the visitor.
Our ethos when creating the Art Experience South Africa brand, was to be a pop-up gallery concept that was not only accessible and affordable to any creatives ready to showcase their work, but also to those wanting to see and support it.
We aim to curate this art in open-air spaces - using beautiful locations and nature to enhance the visual experience and the talents this country has to share!

- Painters
- Sculptors
- Wood art
- Live art
- String art
- Metal art
- Performing art
- Graffiti artists
- Mural artists
- Digital Art
- Light manipulation / night art
- Mixed Media artists
- Psychedelic artists
- Kinetic art
- Miniature art

…. Whatever art!

We are planning several galleries this season and already gathering the troops. There are some amazing ideas that we are excited to have you involved in, either in person, or with just your art.
No canvas is too big or too small or too irregular – we encourage artists to think out the box and let their creative tentacles fly!
Application is free - so are enquiries 😉

Application dates open from 11th August 2023. **Only applications sent to the below email address and with the specified attachments will be considered seriously.
Email: [email protected]
Exhibition dates will vary over the next months. Artists who have successfully applied will be added to our team and notified about upcoming gallery details.
Attach or include:
- A short bio about you and your work.
- At least x2 examples of your work and rough sizes if applicable.
- If you’re able or interested in featuring as a ‘live artist’, i.e: creating your art live in front of an audience during a gallery

Complex living might not be as safe as you think. Be exceptionally vigilant when entering or leaving your complex. Be alert at all times and wait for gates to close before driving off. There have been a number of incidences where non-residents slipped inside the property just as the gate was about to close. Also ensure that the motor has a locked box covering it to stop any attempts at tampering. Installing a sign like this serves as a reminder.
