When machinery and equipment are exposed to elevated temperatures, erosion and corrosion can cause serious surface damage.

Belzona 1511 Super HT-Metal is a two-component, paste-grade epoxy system designed to rebuild damaged surfaces and restore equipment before the application of high-temperature coatings, linings or composite solutions.

Key applications include:
• Rebuilding surfaces damaged by erosion and corrosion
• Structural bonding
• Creating irregular load-bearing shims
• Smoothing welds

ToolBox Talk #49 Complacency in Offshore Work

Experience helps us work efficiently, but familiarity can make a hazard easier to overlook. A rope access inspection, coating repair or maintenance task may be repeated many times. The work can still change with the weather, the condition of the asset, nearby activities or a change in personnel.

Before the task, review the work scope and the controls that apply to it. Confirm permits and isolations, inspect equipment, and make sure everyone understands their role. Do not rely on yesterday’s checks or assume that conditions are the same.

During the task, pay attention to changes. Is access still secure? Has another team started work nearby? Could tools or materials fall into an area below? Does the work still match the agreed plan? If the answer is unclear, pause the job, discuss the risk and agree on the next safe step before continuing.

At handover, share any changes, incomplete work and outstanding hazards with the incoming team. A clear handover helps prevent assumptions from carrying into the next shift.
