Every year, Africa imports millions of kilos of used clothes from Europe, North America, and Asia. Once the bales arrive, wholesalers sell them to shop owners or market traders.
The demand is different in each country. In cooler areas, jackets and sweaters sell well. In hot regions, cotton shirts and light dresses are more popular. In South Africa, people often want branded clothes in very good condition. In Tanzania, many buyers prefer cheaper bulk goods.
