tifically and medically useful radiation through the acceleration of charged particles using the Separated Sector Cyclotron, the Van der Graaff Accelerator and other appropriate technologies. iThemba LABS aims to be the primary centre of expertise in radiation medicine and nuclear science and technologies to advance the knowledge and health of the people of Africa.

Mseki Primary School receives 2nd prize at the Annual Science Competition hosted by MCED. Excitement filled the air as learners from 21 schools (5 HS and 16 PS) gathered at Bridgeville Primary School to showcase their understanding of science concepts through exciting demonstrations. The competition offers an opportunity for learners to gain scientific knowledge whilst developing presentation, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. "I'm amazed to see what these young scientists were able to do in such a short period of time," said Mr Ambrose Yaga, the manager of Science Engagement at NRF-iThemba LABS. Mr Yaga served as a mentor to the group as they prepared for the competition. We are grateful to Mr Francois Jones, the subject advisor for natural science and technology at MCED, for his dedication in creating opportunities beyond the classroom. It was a long journey, but I am finally here to attend the Regional Meeting organized under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The meeting will explore the establishment of a regional network for education and outreach in nuclear science and technology in partnership with AFRA and NACOSTI.
