Normand Energy Switchgear Repairs successfully completed!

Solstad Offshore's Normand Energy was brought into Cape Town Port for scheduled 5-year maintenance and our switchgear team was able to attend to one of the many scopes on board.

During our switchgear maintenance this year we found that the existing spare circuit breaker had damaged connection points, and the racking cradle had been warped. The team was able to conduct an assembly of new breaker to meet the clients’ requests.

This included:

- The circuit breaker relay was programmed to fit the protection functions requited by the load.
- The old racking mechanism was removed.
- The cubicle was adjusted, and the new racking mechanism was aligned with the panel and bus bars.
- The new installation allowed the circuit breaker to rack in and out correctly.

Utilizing our advanced OMICRON electronics testing equipment, SATS were conducted and compared to FATS results to ensure correct operation.

MV Anaiah 5-yearly switchgear maintenance successfully completed!

TEMILE DEVELOPMENT COMPANY NIGERIA LTD. 's MV Anaiah was brought into West Atlantic Shipyard for scheduled 5-year maintenance this year. By providing our services direct on site, our switchgear team attended to the vessel at West Atlantic Shipyard in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Utilizing our advanced OMICRON electronics testing equipment, we were able to complete our clients work scope within the requested time frames, without impacting on the work schedule on board.

This entailed:
- Main Switchboard
- Emergency Switchboard
- Switchgear busbars.
- Current & voltage transformers.
- Protection relays.
- Control systems.
- Circuit breakers.

Returning feedback on noted defects, we give the client recommendations and solutions without delay. This enables the client to get the electrical reticulation system online and back to the correct running conditions.

Seadrill's Sonangol Quenguela, Conformal Coating.

Our 8-man team went aboard the Sonangol Quenguela to execute scopes in line with the upcoming OOS period in Luanda. The ex*****on of these scopes will assist in reducing the workload during the important OOS period.

Over a period of 35 days we were able to complete the conformal coating of 9 essential switchboards, with minimal downtime.

The team worked 24/7 to assist with the necessary planning, isolations and successful completion of deadlines.

Ensuring quality workmanship, whilst performing repairs to previously flashed over sections, we were able to provide a long-term solution to our client.

Another successful project in the bag!

Seadrill's Sonangol Libongos, Conformal Coating.

Teamwork makes the dream work!

This year our team completed its largest project since its formation.

With the Drillship planned for return to Luanda for its Out Of Service period, we were called upon to execute 3 large work scopes on board.

With incredible dedication and hard work, we were able to complete the 3 projects in parallel, with 28 team members during the scheduled OOS period.

Our 16-man conformal coating team completed the conformal coating and modifications of 33 Switchgear panels in record time. With the OOS timeline being one of the most labour-intensive periods, the team worked 24/7 to assist with the necessary planning, isolations and successful completion of deadlines.

Ensuring quality workmanship, whilst performing repairs to previously flashed over sections, we were able to provide a long-term solution to our client.

Another successful project in the bag!
