The Bosch Rugby Supporters’ Club raises funds for the development and support of rugby at Rondebosch (RBHS & RBPS).

Purpose

Our club supports Rondebosch Boys High and Preparatory Schools in a manner that enhances the enjoyment and safety of the sport for all rugby players, coaching staff, and spectators. Objectives

Our club mobilizes interested people to support rugby and provide funding for the benefit of all the players through networking opportunities. Past Funding Projects

Funded a Counter Scrum Machine (which we are very excited about)! Funded other rugby equipment, including tackle bags, hit bags, rugby balls, water bottles & holders for all age groups (U14 - U19). Previous years
Contributed towards the First Aid Room and Physio Room. Contributed towards First Aiders at practices and on match days. Benefits for our members

Access to the Supporters' Club Chalet which overlooks the Tinkie Heyns 1st Field. Access to purchase seats in the Supporters' Club Chalet for the BishBosch home game. Discounted rates on certain Bosch Rugby memorabilia. Offered certain Bosch Rugby memorabilia before non-members due to limited stock. Bosch Rugby functions

After-match get-togethers are hosted after our 1st XV games, these are popular get-togethers with members and other rugby supporters. Special functions take place throughout the year, to name a few: BishBosch Speaker Evening with prominent speakers, Inherit South Africa - Michael Charton Talks, Annual Bosch Golf Day, and the popular Music Evening. Membership

Membership is not restricted to rugby followers. All parents, Old Boys, and supporters of RBPS and RBHS are welcome to join the club. Members are advised of fixtures, results and events by email. Membership Fees 2025:

New Membership:
R350 - couple membership
R200 - single membership/U25 membership

Renew Membership:
R250 - couple membership
R125 - single membership/U25 membership

Except for the first R50, your payment is deductible for income tax purposes as it is a donation to Rondebosch. We look forward to seeing you at the rugby...

Bosch vs Wynberg this Saturday, 15th August.

Come and get behind our boys as they take on Wynberg this Saturday, 15 August, followed by our final home fixture against Bishops on 22 August.

There's nothing quite like the atmosphere on the sidelines, cheering the team on with family, friends and the Bosch community.

Let's fill the stands, wear our blue and gold with pride, and give the boys the support they deserve!

🌳The Rondebosch-Bishops derby 🌳

The BishBosch derbies are the two neighbouring schools' biggest and most anticipated sporting events with thousands of spectators supporting from the stands and watching online.

🏉The first record of any competitive Rondebosch rugby match was in 1904 and the opponents then were Bishops - the score was 3-3. The first official Bish-Bosch derby was played in 1911.

🏉On resumption in 1916 it was a 16-all draw, and Rondebosch recorded its first victory in 1917; played at Newlands the score was 14-3 with future Springbok Jack Tindall at half-back for Rondebosch. Since 1930, with the exception of 1934, 1939 and 2021 (one match each), and in 2020 (no matches), there have been two derbies each season.

🏉The records reflect that the two schools’ First XVs have played each other 206 times, Rondebosch winning 86, Bishops 101 and with 19 draws – 9 of these were 3-all! The average points difference is merely 2.92. Rondebosch won 7 of the last 10 encounters.

🏉Rondebosch did not lose in 22 matches from 1962 to mid-1973, and Bishops’ longest unbeaten run was from 1986 to 1993 (16 matches).

🏉 Although there is intense rivalry on the field, both schools have considerable pride in having each other as traditional rivals, and the convivial spectator interaction after matches, irrespective of the result, is a unique feature of the Rondebosch and Bishops derby extending over 115 years. The rivals at school often become lifelong friends as Old Boys of the two neighbouring schools.
