This week Asheeq swapped Cape Town for Switzerland, spending some time at Robatech HQ for in-depth training on the JumboFlex RCS.

Having access to this kind of hands-on training and knowledge from our colleagues at HQ is such an important part of keeping our local team learning and up to date.

And there’s always time for a little team building too. 😂 Not a bad week at the office. 😏

Travel home safely, Asheeq – and bring all that knowledge home with you! 🇿🇦🇨🇭

As online retail continues to grow, so does the pressure on packaging to do more. Protect the product, use less material, improve efficiency and, increasingly, make more sustainable choices along the way.

Packaging & Print Media recently took a closer look at this in “The Process Behind the Parcel”, including some of the technology behind it and how Robatech SA fits into the bigger picture.

More glue = stronger bond?
𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝘆.

It seems logical that adding more adhesive would create a stronger bond, but it doesn’t quite work that way.

Too little adhesive can obviously affect the bond, but too much can also cause problems. Apart from increasing adhesive consumption and waste and cost, it can increase bonding time and affect the 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 of the application.

Good adhesive application is really about finding that sweet spot. Applying exactly what’s needed, where it’s needed, and doing it consistently.

So when it comes to glue, more isn’t always better. Sometimes it’s just more. 😏💚

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱. 😴

We think about what holds it together, because there’s actually a whole lot going on in there. 🛏️
Pocket springs, foam, side padding and all those different layers need to be bonded accurately and consistently-whether the adhesive is applied automatically or manually.

When mattresses are being produced at speed, getting that application right is so important. The right amount of adhesive, in the right place, helps reduce unnecessary waste.

That’s where Robatech SA comes in. Getting the adhesive application right on something most of us spend 6–8 hours on every single day. (Although, some of us could do with a few more hrs. 😏)

𝟴𝟰 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼… 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗼'𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴?👀

Last week we headed to the CTICC for the official Propak Cape 2026 exhibitor briefing.

And just like that, Propak suddenly feels a whole lot closer! There’s still plenty to do between now and October, but it’s all starting to take shape.

We’re working on creating a Robatech SA experience that you won’t want to miss. 💚

See you at Propak Cape!

This Mandela Day, the Robatech South Africa team had the privilege of supporting Rainbow of Hope, a remarkable organisation dedicated to vulnerable children, providing physical, emotional and educational support and care.

Spending time with the Rainbow of Hope team was a powerful reminder that Mandela Day isn't just about one day of giving. It's about supporting the people who quietly make a difference every single day.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Robatech SA who contributed care pack items, sandwich spreads and their time.

If you'd also like to support Rainbow of Hope, you can find their current wish list on their website: https://rainbowofhope.co.za/

Thank you, Alison and the entire Rainbow of Hope team, for the warm welcome and for the incredible work you do every single day. 💚
