What happens when you send Comms to Zambia? 🇿🇲📸

Armed with a dinky digital camera and permission to be curious, our Communications Lead c a n d i c e joined the EMI South Africa team on her first project trip to Zambia!

From warm welcomes and bumpy roads to beautiful encounters with the people behind the projects, here’s a little glimpse of the week through her eyes. 🥹

And the soundtrack? 🎶 Courtesy of the wonderful caregivers at the Mothers’ Village at Minga Mission Hospital, who welcomed our team with songs of praise and thanksgiving.💙

How do you plan for the future of a hospital that has been growing for nearly 70 years?

What began as a clinic in 1956, Loloma Mission Hospital in Zambia has grown to serve a community of approximately 83,000 people. And as a hospital grows, so do the questions around how its spaces, services and infrastructure can grow with it.

Rather than responding to each new need in isolation, That’s where master planning comes in. It steps back and looks at the whole picture: what exists today, what’s needed, and how the site can develop intentionally over time.

Because good planning isn’t only about what Loloma needs today. It’s about making room for what could come next.

Another encouraging moment from Minga Mission Hospital. 🙌

Following earlier’s recognition from the Zambian Ministry of Health, we’re grateful to see another glimpse of this partnership in action as Ministry officials toured the hospital to see the progress of the ongoing infrastructure developments firsthand.

We’re especially proud to see our own Mutinta Kaula leading the walkthrough, highlighting the projects taking shape across the site. Each step forward is a testament to what can be accomplished when government, local leadership and ministry partners work together in service of stronger, more resilient healthcare for communities.

We’re thankful to be part of this journey alongside Minga Mission Hospital and pray that God will continue to bless the work, the partnerships and the many lives that will be impacted through these facilities. 💙

It’s been a busy week steering through orientation, but we’re excited to welcome our newest group of interns to EMI South Africa! Over the coming months they’ll have the opportunity to learn, grow, serve alongside our team, and experience how God can use their skills to help design a world of hope. Join us in welcoming them to the team, and keep them in your prayers as they take on this new chapter! ☺️

Volunteers needed. 💪

Over the coming months, our teams will be serving alongside ministry partners in Madagascar, Kenya, and Tanzania, supporting projects that will strengthen healthcare, guide long-term planning, and help communities flourish for years to come.

We’re currently looking for Surveyors, Electrical Engineers, Civil Engineers, and Urban Planners to bring their skills to projects ranging from topographical surveys and infrastructure assessments to strategic master planning for ministry campuses and hospitals.

If you’re passionate about using your profession to serve the Church, work alongside local partners, and help lay the groundwork for lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
