Production Assistant – Insulated Panel Manufacturing

Reports To: Production Manager
About the Position
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Assistant to support our insulated panel manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will assist with production planning, inventory control, quality assurance, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient and safe production processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a manufacturing environment and possesses strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with daily production planning and scheduling.
* Monitor production progress and report on output, efficiency, and downtime.
* Coordinate the availability of raw materials and production consumables.
* Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
* Support inventory management, stock counts, and material tracking.
* Assist with quality control inspections and ensure compliance with product specifications.
* Liaise with the production planner, warehouse, procurement, and maintenance teams to support operational requirements.
* Prepare production reports, spreadsheets, and performance data.
* Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.
Minimum Requirements
* Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
* 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Strong administrative and organizational skills.
* Good numerical and analytical abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take ownership of tasks and projects.
* Professional attitude with a high level of integrity, reliability, and self-discipline.
* Ability to work independently, show initiative, and solve problems effectively.
* Emotional maturity to manage priorities, perform under pressure, and interact professionally with colleagues and customers.
* Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
* Diploma or certificate in Production Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
* Experience in the manufacturing of insulated panels, steel products, building materials, or similar industries.
* Knowledge of production planning, inventory control, and quality management systems.
