Hydrocylinder can manufacture any cylinder for any specific application; our team is able to offer professional solutions with regards to design and manufacture of hydraulic cylinders and components. Our industrial range of cylinders and components are designed to operate at 250 Bar. These are available in various standard components sizes which are then combined with machined barrel and rod to obtain a cylinder suited to customer’s requirements. The use of standard components gives Hydrocylinder the edge with quick turnaround times
We also stock a wide range of cylinder kit components, honed barrel and chromed rod which are available to purchase separately and cut to size. Our qualified design team will offer a solution to suit customer requirements and can thereby offer custom designed cylinders for specific applications. Hydrocylinder also manufactures a full range of agricultural cylinders known as the HARVESTA range. HARVESTA is a registered trade mark of Hydrocylinder. Harvesta is a welded construction cylinder which can be fitted directly in place of the other commonly known “Tie-rod” cylinder. The important dimensions and mountings are identical but the difference lies in the components and construction. The HARVESTA has a seal kit which comprises of a 5 piece DAS system, polyurethane gland seal and wiper, which along with the welded end cap produces a superior sealing arrangement that has less or no chance of leaking. The cylinder has an allowable working pressure of 200 Bar. A wide range of these are kept in stock at all times

Hydrocylinder uses chromed rod of CK45 material and ST52.3 fine tolerance tubing. The screw-in glands are manufactured from meehanite, a high grade of cast iron and the pistons from mild steel. All components and raw materials are imported, which along with the high quality workmanship gives a quality produced end product. Hydrocylinder has a full complement of staff who works as a team with the same goal in mind and that is to assist our customers and maintain complete customer satisfaction. ⚙️ The Building Blocks of Motion: A Visual Guide to Mounted Bearings ⚙️
Ever wondered how shafts and rotating parts are supported in machinery? The answer often lies in mounted bearing units! These essential components combine a bearing (the part that allows for motion) with a housing, making them easy to install and replace. This image provides a great visual catalog of some of the most common types you'll find in industrial, agricultural, and automotive applications.

Let's break them down into a few key categories:

1. Pillow Block Bearings (e.g., UCP, UCPH)

These are the most common type, designed to be mounted on a flat surface parallel to the rotating shaft. They are perfect for supporting shafts that run along the length of a machine frame.
2. Fl**ge Units (e.g., UCF, UCFL, UCFC)

These units are mounted on a surface that is perpendicular to the shaft. They come in various shapes to fit different mounting needs:

UCF: Square 4-bolt fl**ge.

UCFL: 2-bolt oval fl**ge (often called a rhombic fl**ge).

UCFC: Round 4-bolt fl**ge.

3. Take-Up Units (e.g., UCT)

These are designed to slide in a frame. Their primary use is to "take up" slack and apply tension to systems like conveyor belts, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
4. Bearing Inserts (e.g., UC, SB)

These are the core components—the actual bearings that fit inside the different housings. They are designed to be easily replaceable, allowing you to swap out a worn bearing without replacing the entire housing.

5. Pressed Steel Units (e.g., PP, PFL, PFT)

These are lightweight and more economical alternatives to the heavier cast iron housings. They are ideal for lighter-duty applications where weight and cost are significant factors.

Choosing the correct bearing and housing is critical for the efficiency and longevity of any machine. Each design offers a unique solution for a specific mounting challenge!
