QUALITY FEATURES
TALBERT Centre Pivot Irrigation Systems provide the ideal management tool and thereby optimum production efficiency. They are specifically designed for the extreme conditions encountered in Africa and are built to meet the specific needs of the client. This enables the farmer to enhance crop production and profits. Updated technology is combined with only the highest quality materials to ensure that TALBERT pivots are effective and efficient. All steel components are “hot-dipped” galvanized to stringent SABS 763 standards.
To ensure years of trouble-free operation, TALBERT pivots have been designed for ease of use and the pivots are manufactured in our own factory, enabling us to ensure a 100% availability of spares and accessories. In addition TALBERT pivots are supported by a countrywide dealer network.
THE CENTER
To ensure absolute stability the center tower is a strong and durable structure, anchored to a reinforced concrete base. The design of the weatherproof control panel focuses on safe and easy operation. The control panel is mounted on the center tower, which controls all the electrical and water supply functions. It enables the operator to preset and control all the various options relative to activation, stopping, reversing, increasing and decreasing travelling speed, as well as cutting out the system. Built-in pressure censors prevent pivots from operating if the water pressure is too low.
GEARBOXES AND BASE BEAM SUPPORT
The approved heavy duty gearboxes used are standard on all TALBERT pivots. To ensure absolute minimum downtime, a full range of spares and service exchange units are always available. Adjusting the wheels to the towing mode is simplified by a set of pressure levers, which are specifically designed to permit easy switching from operating to towing positions. High flotation tires are used as standard, ensuring optimum operation on most soil types.
ELECTRIC MOTORS
For standard motorization, well-proven centre-drive motors coupled to durable gearboxes are used as high and low speed. Combinations are available in (high speed = 1:30 gearbox and low speed = 1:40 gearbox).Should clients have a preference for any other make of gearbox, provision has been made by pre-drilling the mounting plate to accommodate all known alternatives.
ALIGNMENT SYSTEMS
To ensure optimal, continuous operation in all applications and conditions, a specially designed and well-proven alignment system is used. Spare parts are freely available with technical support advice, should this be required.
A – FRAME
To ensure trouble free operation in the extreme and varied conditions experienced in Africa, heavy duty A-frames are standard on all units.
TOWER SEALS
To protect the unique seals, designed and developed in-house, from harmful UV-light they are totally encapsulated. The seals are manufactured from high quality rubber and are standard on all TALBERT pivots.
