This contactor didn’t just fail… it cooked itself. The circuit breaker on the left is still in decent shape, but the contactor is beyond repair. We’ll either fix what’s salvageable or replace it so the machine can get back into production safely. 🏭

Siemens SINUMERIK control running a custom Special Roller Turning cycle developed by MSI Machine Services 💻. The HMI shows live axis positions, safe position monitoring and dedicated cycle parameters including Roll Radius, Required Diameter, Roll Length, Cutting Speed and Roller Clamping positions.

The application is set up for precision machining of large rubber/polyurethane rollers and solid tyres.

Problem ❌
Machine stopped working, the back-stop couldn’t adjust the length. The drive was faulty and all repairs were unsuccessful due to very old components.

MSI Solution 💡
We removed the old analog drives and installed a new Profinet servo drive which controls the bending length. MSI to the rescue! 💪
