Polyvinyl Alcohol PVA 2699
PVA 2699 is a fully hydrolyzed, high-viscosity grade of polyvinyl alcohol. It is characterized by its excellent film-forming, adhesive, and emulsifying properties, making it a versatile polymer for demanding industrial applications.
Key Features & Functions:
Full Hydrolysis (>98.5%): Exhibits high resistance to solvents and oils, and superior water solubility only at elevated temperatures.
High Viscosity: Provides excellent thickening, binding strength, and film integrity.
Strong Adhesive Power: Delivers high binding strength on porous substrates.
Excellent Film-Forming: Produces tough, clear, and gas-barrier films with high tensile strength.
Emulsification & Dispersion Stability: Effectively stabilizes emulsions and suspensions.
Primary Applications:
Adhesives: A key component in high-performance wood adhesives, paper converting, and packaging laminates.
Textiles: Used as a sizing agent to protect yarns during weaving and as a warp sizing.
Paper: Employed as a strength additive, surface sizing agent, and coating binder to enhance printability and durability.
Films & Packaging: Produces water-soluble films for unit-dose detergents, agrochemicals, and other industrial applications.
Construction: Functions as a non-reemulsifiable protective colloid in vinyl acetate homopolymer and copolymer dispersions used in paints and coatings.
