1. Safely operates company vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and finished products to and from job sites and customer locations.
2. Loads, secures, and unloads cargo using proper techniques and equipment to prevent damage during transport.
3. Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition.
4. Maintains accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and required documentation for all routes.
5. Coordinates with shop personnel and management to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
6. Assists with loading and unloading delivery trucks using crane equipment and telescopic material handler when required.
7. Ensures all materials are properly secured and complies with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
8. Communicates effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and updates.
9. Maintains cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle.
10. Follows all traffic laws and company driving policies at all times.
11. Assists in the shop or yard when not making deliveries, as needed.
12. Completes documentation forms as required by the QC Dept for all deliveries and pickups.
13. Wears required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and appropriate clothing.
14. Must be able to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
15. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
16. Direct report to Shop Foreman and President of Operations.

Drivers may transport materials related to projects such as bridges, structural buildings, stairs, or railings. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials arrive safely, on time, and ready for production or installation.

Drivers are an essential part of the team and must be comfortable working independently while maintaining communication with the shop and job sites.

Pay Rate: Pay based on level of experience
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 6:00AM – 3:30PM day shift (OT available as needed)

1) Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straight edge, combination square, calipers, and rulers.
2) Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
3) Cuts steel, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife.
4) Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
5) Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
6) Welds components in flat or vertical positions.
7) Heats and forms metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
9) Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
10) Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
11) Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
12) Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks using crane equipment and telescopic material handler.
13) Complete documentation forms as required by the QC Dept for all projects.

Job Description: Steel Estimator Intern
Job Duties: This is an internship where you will be working under the current Estimator learning the job and gradually taking over the duties of the position as that person moves toward retirement. The Estimator uses multiple resources to locate projects for bidding, acquires the plans, specifications and other documents necessary to complete a proposal. The Estimator sets up bid files, prints drawings and specifications and performs a steel take off. Utilizing estimating software this takeoff is transformed into a bid. Working with other company personnel, the Estimator will create a proposal and distribute it to contractors.
Once a proposal is accepted, the Estimator will work with other office employees to engage a detail drawing contractor, an erector and other sub-contractors as required. The Estimator will also assist in Production Management by maintaining production records and purchasing materials and supplies. Estimator will reconcile estimates to production to assure accuracy of both.
Desired Attributes: The candidate for this position will possess solid basic math skills. Able to work with measurements in 1/16ths of an inch and convert fractions on the fly. Candidate will have good reading comprehension skills and retention skills. Candidate will need to be able to organize and prioritize work schedules, materials and documentation. Candidate for this position must be a self-starter and able to function independently of other employees.
Education Required: High School Diploma, College Degree not a requirement but would help
Skills Required: Basic math, especially measurements
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, mainly Word and Excel
Willingness and ability to learn this position
