Certifications
• NAVSEA: fitters and welders qualified to Technical Publication standards for naval work
• ASME U stamp for pressure vessels built to Section VIII, Division 1, plus an R stamp for repairs and alterations
• AWS D1.1 qualified fitters and welders, with prequalified FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW procedures

Welding & Fab Inspection
• In-house Certified Weld Inspectors (AWS QC1)
• ASNT Level II inspectors for visual, mag particle, and dye penetrant exams
• UT and RT through qualified third-party partners

Dimensional and Pressure Inspection
• Multiple FARO Quantum arm and Ion laser trackers
• Hydrostatic testing up to 10,000 psi and leak testing up to 150 psi

Through strict adherence to industry standards, detailed inspection practices, and advanced measurement technology, Brilex ensures each project meets exacting requirements and performs as intended.

Melt shops. Hot and cold mills. Bar, beam, tube and pipe mills. Process lines. If it's part of a steel mill, chances are we've built it.

Transfer cars, scrap buckets, ladle stands, roll tables, coil handling systems, pinch rolls, descaling equipment, mill guides, tundish cars, coilers, the list goes on. 30+ years building for the steel industry means there's very little we haven't fabricated, machined, or assembled at some point.

From raw plate to final assembly, it all happens inside our own walls.

All of it, across three facilities and 300,000+ square feet in the greater Youngstown area, with crane capacity over 120 tons for the parts that need real muscle to move.

That's not just capability for capability's sake. It's control. Control over tolerances, control over finish, control over the schedule, start to finish, on parts that end up where "close enough" isn't a spec.

Quality isn't something that happens at the end of the line, it goes into every single step along the way.

Last week, we celebrated 30 years with an employee anniversary picnic at Plant 1, bringing together 180 employees and retirees to mark this milestone.

Founded in 1996 with just a few employees in a 5,000 sq. ft. facility, Brilex Industries has grown to 180 employees across more than 300,000 sq. ft. and three plants in the Mahoning Valley.

The event recognized the people behind that growth, including long-tenured employees, with one team member reaching 28 years. Leadership remarks reinforced a simple truth: our employees are the backbone of the company and the reason we’ve reached this milestone.

We’re proud of what’s been built over the past 30 years, and even more excited about what’s ahead.

From raw American steel to final assembly, this Downcoiler Base Structure Assembly will support a newly upgraded 84” Hot Strip Mill (HSM) Downcoiler.

Our mill partner trusted us to supply 3 of these large assemblies for critical outage deliveries, allowing us to showcase how we combine a detailed project management & engineering approach with talented teammates and top of the line equipment to meet our customers needs.

In total, the project represents:

▪ 1,200,000+ Lbs of American steel & product

▪ 25,000+ U.S. manufacturing hours

▪ 25+ major fabricated and machined components per assembly

Today marks 30 years of Brilex Industries, and it’s a moment filled with gratitude and pride!

What began with just a few dedicated people working out of 5,000 square feet has grown into a team of more than 175 employees operating across 300,000+ square feet of facilities. That kind of growth doesn’t happen without incredible people showing up every day, taking pride in their work, and believing in a shared vision.

To our employees, past and present, thank you for being the heart and backbone of Brilex. Your craftsmanship, work ethic, and commitment to doing things the right way are the reason we’re here today.

To our customers, thank you for your trust, your challenges, and your long-standing partnerships. And to our valued vendors and suppliers, thank you for standing alongside us, supporting our growth, and helping us deliver quality work day in and day out.

Yesterday, we welcomed juniors and seniors from Mahoning County Career and Technical Center and Valley STEM + ME2 Academy Advanced Manufacturing Class to Brilex Plant 1 for an on-site tour.

The visit provided students with an inside look at our manufacturing operations and an opportunity to learn more about career paths in advanced manufacturing. We always appreciate the chance to engage with and support the next generation of skilled professionals!
