๐ข*Attention NYC Contractors, Project Managers, and Site Supervisors!* ๐ข
With New York City hosting matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Mayorโs Office has declared all 8 local match days as Gridlock Alert Days. The NYC DOT is implementing a massive Midtown Transportation Plan that directly impacts commercial truck and flatbed deliveries.
If you have active jobsites in Manhattan or the surrounding boroughs, please review these restrictions to ensure your material flows aren't disrupted:
๐
The 8 Gridlock Alert Days:
June 13, 16, 22, 25, 27, 30
July 5, 19
๐ซ Key Truck & Delivery Restrictions:
Midtown Truck Ban: Heavy truck deliveries are strictly banned in Midtown Manhattan (30th St to 60th St, river to river) starting 6 hours before kickoff and lasting until 3 hours after each match.
Major Street Closures: 42nd Street will be restricted to buses only. Streets surrounding Penn Station (32nd & 33rd St) will be fully closed to vehicles. Expect heavy spillover congestion into the outer boroughs and river crossings.
We are doing everything we can to keep your jobsites supplied. However, to guarantee your deliveries arrive on time, we highly recommend scheduling your material deliveries outside of the match-day windows or ordering well in advance.
