We recognize this coming Sunday's National Dam Safety Awareness Day – – and the vital role safe, well-maintained play in protecting communities and supporting our clients’ long-term operations.

At , our focus is on helping dam owners proactively manage risk, maintain regulatory compliance, and extend the service life of their assets.

Our ongoing work at Nolte Dam reflects this commitment. We are partnering closely with our client to support their goal of restoring Meadow Lake through a gate replacement project on the dam.

GEI is committed to helping our client restore the asset, improve reliability and reduce risks — both now and into the future.

The California Department of Water Resources' Fresno Office did a great job pro-actively planning before the emergency is at the door. They used “That Dam Game!” as both a team-building activity and a climate readiness exercise, reflecting exactly the kind of foresight that work requires. The game brought people together now to practice the tradeoffs they may have to navigate under pressure later.

partnered with DWR to deliver this facilitated, scenario-based workshop.

The workshop brought DWR staff together to explore how climate change is affecting ’s systems, and how agencies can prepare for more complex, interconnected risks.

The workshop created space for participants to test decisions in a low-risk environment, examine the consequences of investment choices, and discuss what resilient planning looks like.

The workshop culminated in a standing ovation for all the DWR Fresno Office employees who support integrated water resource management decision making. Playing the game gave all the participants a new appreciation for all that goes into balancing these climate resilient decisions.

We appreciate the opportunity to support DWR and our partners in advancing climate preparedness and water resource across California.
