Good evening from Shanghai!
As most of you that have been following us for a number of years will know, every second year in September, Young Professionals from all over the world meet to compete in the WorldSkills Competition.
This year, that event is taking place this week in Shanghai and as a Global Industry Partner of WorldSkills International, Car-O-Liner once again is part of the Competition in the Autobody Repair Skill.
Our local Car-O-Liner team in China has done a great job at preparing the stage and everything was ready several days before the official start of the competition.
Today, we have welcomed 19 young professionals who will compete four days to find out who is the best amongst them. As they do so, they will, amongst other products, be using our welders, both Spot and MIG/MAG, our Q42 bench with Car-O-Tronic measuring system and our CDR1 Dent Repair station. Pre-defined test projects will have to be worked through in certain periods of time and neutral Experts will judge individual results.
In order for them to familiarise with the different items, they had a full afternoon of testing and getting comfortable with the equipment and have made plentiful use of it.
Stay tuned to see more in the coming days as Yen-Chu, Lucas Eduardo, Nowa Li, Dewangga, Alex, Jack, Evan, Joe, Sho, Ethan, Tejas, Thiraphong, Carlos, Gilles, Mesuli, Teajung, Marcus, Jiao and Elias demonstrate their talent and commitment to achieve the best possible results.
Tomorrow will be a rather quiet day, culminating in the Opening Ceremony at which Premier Li will officially open WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.
The Competition clock will start ticking on Wednesday morning.
May the Best win!
