So much for waiting it out.

Aluminum is still expensive. Supply is still tight. And demand hasn’t gone away.

The U.S. still relies heavily on imported aluminum, while packaging, electrical and infrastructure continue to need metal.

Pretty simple. Tight supply plus steady demand doesn’t usually equal cheaper aluminum.

We don’t have a crystal ball. We do have aluminum.

We currently have 5052 H32 and H34 and 3003 H14 available in a good range of gauges, along with mill allocation for larger programs.

I am a little late sharing this, but it is far too good not to post! This is one of my favorite pictures of John Gilbert, who officially retired from Almetals last year. John’s smile and laughter are truly infectious. He has also been so generous with his time. Even after stepping away, he gently eased us into his retirement by coming back to help train our newer team members. Thank you, John, for the wonderful memories and for still visiting us from time to time. Happy belated retirement! We celebrate you today and always. 🎉

On July 30th, we celebrated and thanked our incredible Purchasing Manager, Mike Krzyskowski, as he officially retired after 14 amazing years with us!Over the last 14 years, Mike has been the steady hand behind our supply chain. He kept our operations running smoothly through every challenge. More than that, he brought kindness, wisdom, and a great smile to the office every single day.Thank you Mike for your incredible dedication and for helping us grow. Aluminum is tight right now.

We’ve been having a lot more conversations about this over the last couple of weeks. Prices are high, and material isn’t as easy to find as it was.

We’re seeing:
• More orders getting pulled in
• Less “wait and see”
• Continued demand for 1100, 3003, and 5052 aluminum
• More focus on O-Temper for forming jobs

Nothing dramatic, just people trying to stay ahead of it and not get caught short.

That usually makes a big difference.

It feels like the headlines haven’t let up much lately.

Oil has been moving around again, and while nothing drastic has hit yet, we are noticing a shift in how people are planning and buying metal.

A few things we’ve been seeing:
• Freight and energy costs slowly working their way into pricing
• More “plan ahead just in case” conversations
• Steady demand for familiar materials like 3003 and 5052 aluminum
• Customers getting a little ahead of their material needs

Nothing dramatic, just a bit more caution and planning.

That usually goes a long way in this industry.
