One of the most rewarding parts of manufacturing is seeing your work come to life close to home.

Over the past year, our team has been behind the scenes designing, engineering, and fabricating a new stage ramp for the Winstock Country Music Festival. As a company rooted in the Winsted community, we're proud to have contributed to an event that brings thousands of people together each summer.

From the initial concept to the finished product, this project required teamwork, problem solving, and plenty of hands-on craftsmanship across multiple departments. We’re proud of everyone who played a role in bringing it to life and excited to see it in action at this year’s festival.

One of our favorite ways to show appreciation is by creating small moments for our team throughout the year.

This month, that meant Subway lunch boxes for all AWI employees. It may be a simple gesture, but it’s one more way we can say thank you to the people behind the work we do every day.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Tom Smith🌟

Meet Tom, our Laser Production Supervisor! Tom has been part of the AWI team for a year, and during that time, has become a valuable part our our shop operations.

Originally from Healdsburg, CA, Tom brings a passion for metal work, both on and off the clock. Outside of work, he enjoys rebuilding cars, restoring antiques, and creating art out of metal. He also loves spending time with his wife and kids, riding his motorcycle long distance, and driving around in his hotrod truck.

When asked what he loves most about his job, Tom said it’s the culture. Since starting at AWI, he said it has felt like home every day, thanks to the positive environment and the people who genuinely love what they do.

We’re grateful to have Tom on the AWI team!
