Dale Vance, founder of Video Madness and Store-It has partnered with Dr. Eric Tarr, founder of Generations Physical Therapy and Snap Fitness to open General Hardware. The same day, they acquired the lumberyard of Leslie Lumber, a local business since 1957. Dale and Dr. Tarr said they have wanted to start a new hardware and building supply business in Winfield for sometime. “We’ve been doing busin

ess in Winfield for a long time now and have felt how inconvenient it is to drive out of town and walk through a megastore for something that should be quick and easy,” said Dale. “Winfield and its surrounding communities have been extremely supportive of our other businesses. So we knew that if we designed a hardware store that we would want to frequent, and made it to the quality that our community has come to expect from us, it would do well,” said Dr. Tarr. The store is clean, modern, and much larger than you would expect. It is heavily stocked with merchandise, including Pratt & Lambert paint, a line of Sherwin Williams. They also have a computerized color matcher/mixer and shaker for all of you painting needs. The General Hardware family is quick to greet you and eager to help. Also their acquisition of Leslie Lumber and partnership with Do It Best has allowed them to expand their line of merchandise to most anything you would need to build or take care of your home or business.
