Interactive Architecture and Engineering for Children

Interactive Architecture and Engineering for Children IAEC is an organization of architects who promote the architectural, and environmental education to children.

Our workshops encourage children to observe, explore and design. AEC offers a variety of architectural, engineering, and design workshops to young people. Children learn to observe the environment and analyze it critically. They are encouraged to use all their senses in experiencing architecture. They study famous architects and engineers from around the world and then complete hands-on design act

ivities. During our workshops, they are able to understand that the creation of architecture and engineering is an exercise of the imagination. The future of our build environment - our buildings, villages, towns, and cities will be determined by the children of today. The education of architecture and engineering for our children is very important for our society and our objective is to be able to help cultivate these skills and talent in them.

The theme of our workshop on Sunday was “Japanese Capsule Tower”. It was inspired by the Capsule Tower in Nakagin, Japan, designed by the well known Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa. The children learned about this unusual apartment building style made up of 140 tiny concrete capsules, each 300 square feet. They designed and build capsule towers from Styrofoam and cardboard. Please take a look at the creative projects made today. Aren't they wonderful?

Meet our fantastic young engineers! Pictures from our class “Paper Tube Engineering” at WSCC on Sunday, December 17th. The children learned how engineers and architects need to work in a team in order to design and realize their project ideas. Our session was focused primarily on teamwork.
The children made 60 tubes from paper and assembled a giant geodesic dome from them. They really enjoyed collaborating with each other. They learned how teamwork makes a job easier and more enjoyable, empowering them to accomplish anything!
