Can you guess this week's Paint Color Highlight? 👀
𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘇𝘆 / 𝗜𝗻-𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘁
If Mopar had a royal color, this would wear the crown. 👑💜
Known as “Plum Crazy” on Dodges and “In-Violet” on Plymouths (paint code FC7), this legendary shade was part of Mopar’s bold High Impact paint lineup. These wild colors were designed to grab attention on the showroom floor and make sure their muscle cars were anything but ordinary.
The name “In-Violet” is also a clever play on the word inviolate, meaning something kept sacred, pure, or untouched. A fitting name for a color that Mopar fans have protected like treasure for decades.
This deep, electric purple ruled the streets in 1970–1971 on icons like the Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Plymouth Barracuda, and Plymouth Road Runner. It quickly became one of the most recognizable Mopar colors ever sprayed.
Fans loved it so much that it returned decades later in limited runs on modern Challengers and Chargers, including 2007, 2010, 2013–2014, 2016–2019, and 2023.
Loud, unmistakable, and impossible to miss in the wild. Exactly what muscle cars were meant to be.
When Mopar goes purple, it doesn’t hold back. ⚡
