MEP Mechanical Designer / Engineer (Part-Time) π·π»π·π»ββοΈ
We are looking for a Mechanical Designer / Engineer with experience in MEP design for building projects. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, manage deadlines, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the design and documentation of mechanical systems across commercial, workplace, and retail projects.
The selected candidate will support mechanical design efforts, prepare and review technical documentation, coordinate with project teams, and contribute to high-quality engineering deliverables using Revit and AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and support mechanical design documentation for MEP projects.
Prepare drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
Read, interpret, and implement mechanical design requirements and project documentation.
Support design work related to HVAC and mechanical systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Coordinate with internal engineering teams, architects, owners, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
Attend remote coordination meetings and contribute to design discussions.
Manage assigned tasks, deadlines, and deliverables with limited supervision.
Review project requirements and help ensure design consistency, accuracy, and code compliance.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Engineer within an engineering consulting environment.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
Familiarity with mechanical engineering design and MEP systems.
Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including IMC, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1
Ability to read, interpret, and implement mechanical design documentation.
Proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently.
Comfortable working remotely and participating in coordination meetings.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
Nice to Have
EIT certification, PE license, or active progress toward professional licensure.
